I better get busy!

I need to get busy working on some of the photos I’ve taken since we’ve been here. (I found a few that were good enough to share right out of the camera! WHEW!)

It seems like we go somewhere every day and I take a bunch more photos!

(a walk on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville)

I’ll have enough photos for the rest of the year at this rate.

When I stay home…I like to putter.

I used to have pottery in my china cabinet here but now I have odds and ends.

IMG_6826

Mostly vintage things I’ve found at thrift stores or that I’ve kept over the years.

I love little stacks of plates and sweet angels.

Maybe I’ll try to keep my posts simple…

saying less and sharing more photos.

Imagine if we had to have our film developed like in the olden days.

I would be in the poor house for sure! How about you?

Those are nice, interior shots-- not easy to do. Yes, digital photography has changed the way we take pictures, hasn't it?

Love your pictures. Do you ever trade off some off your collections to your other home?? I think your town is very nice looking. Hope you are enjoying your visit back home. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

It would definitely be an expensive venture to have to develop film now. I remember being so careful and so selective about what shots to take with our camera when we were raising our kids. It makes me sad a bit that we don't have as many pictures of them as we do of our grandkids, even though we have a ton. Now we can just snap away and then delete or store the ones we don't use. Love the freedom we have now to take pics of everything we want to capture in our world. Fun!

SWEET "odd and ends"!

I know, I would be in the poor house beside you! I remember in my parents' day, the days of roll film, they would often just keep a roll of exposed film in a dresser drawer until they could afford to have it developed. Now I take pictures all the time, upload them to the computer, etc. But I rarely print them out, something I need to do.

What a gorgeous dome that is!

Love your pictures, Diane! You have some very sweet treats in your cabinet too :) We were only saying the other day how not having to get films developed any more has completely changed taking photos for everyone these days......I still regret that the film of some toys I photographed when aged ten was never developed!!
Happy week!

You can say that again, Diane! Can you just imagine the $$ to develope all of those pics? Mt computer has 1000's and more on my external hard drive! I keep saying to myself that one of these day I am going to go through and purge, deleting some that aren't that great. And aren't you also glad we don't have all of those envelopes of negatives laying around??? You know the commercial about "Eat more CHIKIN?" I say "Take more PITCHERS!" lol...Have a wonderful day!

Oh I would be in big trouble if I had to use the old film for my camera!! I love digital photography and the ability to edit my pictures as home. Of all the pictures you posted, nosy me wanted to see all the things in your china cabinet. I love looking at the things people cherish!!

The worst thing that ever happened to me was having a film with pictures of my son when he was small with a monkey crawling on him and the last pictures of my mother in law on the same film...double exposure! So sad.
Love the shots of your home town. I would love to go there.
Hugs,
Debbie

What sweet treasures! I had to laugh at the thought of bloggers having to actually develop film. :)

LOL ~ you really made me laugh reminding me about how we use to get our film developed.
My mom use to save all those film containers to put treasures in. I have a few too. I kind of miss them, my boys would love them to store small Lego pieces.

Great photos today, thank you for sharing.

Oh I wouldn't be able to participate at all! Pretty photos of your community and I enjoyed the glimpse of your china cupboard, too.

One of the things I love about digital is that I can take as many photos as I want and then delete the bad one's without any cost in developing. It has made taking photos more fun for me. Yours are always wonderful. Love your china hutch and all your little bits and pieces. I love little things and have way too many but gosh it's hard to get rid of stuff.
Big Hugs Sis!

I love your big china cabinet, Diane. Yes, I'd definitely be in the poor house if I had to use film for my photos. I guess most of us wouldn't be blogging would we. Well...they'd be very wordy blogs I guess. :) Hugs, Pam

Some inside and outside photos! We got doubly blessed today. Oh, we are so glad that we have digital now. As you can imagine, our photo costs used to be horrendous. We would spend about $500 on each trip just for film and processing. And we could only afford for Jim to take photos. So I went decades without ever clicking a shutter.

Hello Diane

I love the image of Hendersonville. A beautiful town worth exploring. I share your love for angels too.
You make a good point about the expense of photos prior to digital cameras.

Beautiful photos. Yes, the old photo film rolls, processing, etc... seem so archaic nowadays. Yes, it was quite expensive. Thank goodness for digital! Looking forward to seeing your other photos :)

Lots of cute, cute collectibles! I'm so thankful for the new scan disk that we have today. only problem is....I forget to take the disk with me in order to make prints. I've done this many times.

I remember when it used to take 2 weeks to get a roll of film developed. We were so careful about using up our film so we made sure every photo counted. I love the ease of digital now!

Diane,
I loved looking at your china cabinet and all your lovelies - the sweet angels, birds, and treasures you've collected along the way. I also like to putter when I'm at home. I think because home is one of my favorite places to be. Your pictures are always a delight to see.

love,
~Sheri

Here I am at the end of the line. I was first in line this morning, but I was on the iPad and had a perfectly wonderful response typed out, then I hit something and the comment disappeared. That happens on the iPad frequently. As I was saying--I look for very specific things when I thrift shop: right now vintage doll furniture. Rare. Lenox, especially the swans. Lefton figurines of any sort, but I have the Christmas Village. Sometimes I get lucky. Crystal cream and sugars. But I think I have enough. When my daughter and I don't go together we text each other: What about this? No. Or Too much for this? You have a wonderful collections of treasures. And isn't Digital wonderful!

I was just thinking the other day that I wouldn't take a fraction of the photos that I do now if I had to pay for developing the film. I used to buy a roll which would have 24 prints. I think I take 24 photos now in about 5 minutes or less! lol! Pretty pics in your city and in your house, too!
