The Pumpkin Moon

We walked out on the balcony to watch this spectacular sunset last night.

We love to sit in our glider and watch it change right before our eyes.

The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains take your breath away. Mt. Pisgah, tallest mountain in center.

Reflected in the French doors on the balcony.

And then at around 10 pm, we walked out on the balcony to see the ‘pumpkin moon’.

(that’s not an official name, we just called it that)

Have a fabulous weekend filled with beauty.

Wonderful!! Isn't Pumpkin Moon a Tasha Tudor book? I'll look that up.

I just checked-- It's "Pumpkin Moonshine." I was close.

Pumpkin Moon Waxing...LOL! Well that's a fine name. I wonder what it really is...oh in two out of three years it is the Harvest Moon or sometimes the Corn Moon, according to the Farmer's Almanac.

Now is it cool out there in the evenings? Do you need a sweater? It looks so beautiful that I'd very much enjoy that time of day.

Harvest Moon, perhaps, but I think that is the full moon. None the less such a beautiful view. It must be very relaxing to sit and watch night fall. We used to see beautiful sunsets, but then houses across the way began to pop up blocking our view of the Rocky Mountains. Wonderful photos, Diane.

Very pretty colours in that sunset. I wonder what gives the moon that lovely orange colour?

Gorgeous sunset! I love watching sunsets also although you have a much nicer view. That's cute how you call it a pumpkin moon. It fits.

I haven't been to Pisgah in AGES! We used to go camping in the mountains when I was growing up and I loved the scenery on the parkway. Gorgeous pix! Thanks for sharing and for bringing up fond memories.
