‘Looking Back’

No, this isn’t a post on looking back at our past.

Well, in a way it is.

We enjoyed a little over a month in the mountains of NC.

(pretend you’ve turned around in your seat to see this!)

And now we’ve made the trip South to enjoy the summer time weather here.

It’s always fun to see how other people navigate this beautiful country.

Not sure who rode in this.

armyIMG_8232

It was parked at the motel and we never saw anyone in it. (I thought it looked neat and took photos! lol)

This was one of our favorite sights. Really makes you wonder how it would be to experience the back roads of America in a horse drawn wagon.

Do you think you would like it?

I’ve missed a lot of ‘visitin’. So please, give me a chance to catch up on all of my favorite blogs! I can’t wait to find out what’s new with you!

It is fun to travel, isn't it. And I do love the backroads. I would always prefer backroads to freeway any day. So much more personal, so diverse. Enjoy settling in, Diane!

Love tour pictures Diane. The wagon looked like gypsies. I would not have been a good pioneer. I do not care to rough it these days. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

I always wanted to ride in a horse drawn wagon. I bet its not too much fun after the first couple of days tho. xo

Nothing like a good old fashioned road trip. By wagon? Don't think so. I think I'd like to crise in my '67 mustang coupe that gathers dust in the garage. Now that was some ride.

PS glad to see that you are back.

Travel is delightful, slow or fast, although jouncing in a horse and buggy might be a wee bit uncomfortable. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Have fun settling back into real life.

Well, by what you have posted from NC, it sure looks like you enjoyed your time there in those mountains! You never know when the snow might start falling up there so you were smart to get out while the gettin' was good...lol!

you areso lucky to have two beautiful homes!!! the best of both worlds in a way, I had to clean up after horses as a child, I don`t want that job again, I would pass on the buggy,

Traveling my horse and wagon...sound fun but I believe the novelty would wear off really fast! Glad to see you enjoyed your time in the mountains.

Diane, I have ridden in a horse drawn wagon and all I can say is that it is teeth jarring...and bone jarring.lol. My hat is off to the pioneers who crossed the country in wagons. Looking forward to seeing your Florida home!!

Oh the romance of a horse drawn carriage, I'd love to live like this, but I daresay it is a lot of hard work each day to carry out day to day life. A lovely tour with such beautiful skies. Take care my lovely x

I love hitting the open road. We don't get to do it much but it is always a great feeling. Love the photos you have shared and I hope you can continue to have a safe and fun trip.

Hi Diane, it looks like you had a wonderful time in NC! It is so much fun traveling by car but I would not like a horse drawn carriage! What an interesting truck! Have a wonderful week.

Traveling the back roads while sitting in my very comfy seat in our car works so well for me, Diane! The dirt roads that the first automobiles traveled on were sure not paved. A horse drawn wagon is not for me. :)

Just when I thought I was getting caught up with everyone's blogs I see I've missed about 5 of your posts! Where were they hiding I wonder?? LOL Great to see so many different modes of transportation there. The horse and wagon one looks so out of place though. I wonder how far that man has traveled in that? Enjoy your trip back to Florida and safe travels to you. Blessings and hugs. Pam

When we drive through the desert and across the mountains, I always think of those who came here via horse and carriage, not really knowing when they would arrive at the Pacific Ocean. Or I guess for some, not even knowing where they would end up. Those mountains in N.C. are truly gorgeous.

Oh, the horse drawn wagon would be SUCH a fun experience!

So glad you were able to share NC with us. The man in the horse drawn wagons was very interesting but also dangerous I would think or maybe he knows which roads to take? I think we should all go back to that way of traveling! LOL!

We've often made that trip, but this time my daughter made it to us. She came for two weeks.
