Readin’ and Writin’ and waitin’ for Rain!

The sun is out bright this morning but I would love to spend the day inside and we do have a ‘chance of rain’! I’ve had such a wonderful (and active) week!

IMG_2006

And look at the books I’m readin’ right now.

IMG_2005

I love love love the Jacqueline Winspear mysteries with Maisie Dobbs. I found this one at a book sale so I’m still reading them ‘out of order’ but that’s OK.

And when my hubby shopped for my birthday on Amazon, he used my wish list for ideas and bought me this book.

Do you recognize the author? It’s my blog buddy and dollie friend, JoAnn from Scene through my eyes!!!

I can’t wait to read it!

She sent me some dollie pressies for my birthday too that I’ll share in another post.

IMG_1961

I also got my giveaway win from Gina at The Gentle art of Homemaking. She has started a new blog so visit her soon! You’ll love her!

IMG_1957

She sent me an April Cornell tea towel in a pretty tote bag and this amazing journal.

I’m going to really enjoy it and use it for some special writing this year.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day, too!

Do you think it will rain?

Certainly no rain here. Sunshine. Sun. 3 cheers. And it will be warm and the snow will finally all be melted away and we can take down the outside Christmas deccorations. No. No rain. You have lots of great reading to keep you entertained on a rainy day, the best way to spend a dreary day. Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm happy to hear you had such a fun birthday week. Looks like you have lots of reading to catch up on. No rain in sight here; it's been the driest January on record so far.

You've hit the jackpot! Hope you've had a wonderful birthday week.

Thank you for your sweet encouragement.

You are always a winner, Diane! :) What a lucky lady you are. There's definitely not a chance of rain here today and the sun is shining brightly if you care to go for a walk all bundled up in layers. I used the treadmill this morning instead but will walk to the mailbox at the end of the driveway shortly. lol Have a wonderful weekend!

I am asking God to send rain since we are in a drought, and meantime it looks like it will be 70 degrees and no rain this weekend. I am reading the Maisie Dobbs books too, and I have read the one you have.

The Alaska book looks good...right up my alley! I too love JW books but got only a few into the series so need to catch up.
Look at your lovely gifts you got! I think the line of storms is running right between us. We have sunshine and no snow....it must have just missed us...no rain either. You might fare the same as it looked just north of you but then I'm not a meteorologist...I just play one on t.v. LOL! Have a wonderful weekend!

It indeed looks like it will rain - well here in the PNW on the coast it does - rain has been coming down by the bucket all day with heavy lashing winds. Perfect day for staying indoors and making doll clothes. I'm working on two dresses - one has to wait because I'm out of narrow lace - but I'll remedy that tomorrow.

What lovely gifts you got for your birthday - and I'm honored that your husband chose my book as one of your gifts - I hope you enjoy it.

Oh the journal is so neat - I love a fresh new journal. Looks like you are going to have some fun things to play with from your birthday - enjoy!

Good evening Diane! You certainly did have a good week! I love the cover of your journal!!! We got 3" or 4 " of snow today--not too much but there is a good chance we are going to get buried with snow early in the week. Oh well, spring will be here before you know it!!! I cooked, cut out a sewing project, worked on my journal and my blog post for tomorrow so it was nice to be stuck inside. I love days like this!!!!
Enjoy your reading!!!

Sweet friend..I'm sorry I haven't been around. I sort of drifted from blogging for awhile. Yes, I DO love a good mystery even though I lean toward historical novels. Mostly English right now. You sound like you are really into your books..and I know exactly how you feel!
I didn't even get to post Christmas this year and with guests for a few weeks..blogging went by the wayside.
Just for the record, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Would you believe I did get at least one baby doll dressed for winter!
big hugs..and take good care..
