Change Change Change

I’ve always known that things change. It’s inevitable. And to fight it is useless.
Going back to bed and pulling the covers over your head won’t stop it! (that’s what I always threaten to do)

water hyacinth

I started blogging 6 years ago and within the first few months, I started using Windows Live Writer to compose all of my posts. It’s like anything else…once you learn it, you become accustomed to it. I like to write my posts from start to finish and then ‘plug in’ the photos. (and Live Writer resizes them, one less thing to worry about)
But Windows Live Writer is no more.

BOO HOO!

So I feel like I am starting all over again. Bear with me!

I also want to thank everyone for their prayers for my healing. I tripped and fell on my face a month ago! It’s like I took a running start and threw myself on a concrete sidewalk, face first. So it’s been quite a healing process. Most of my bruises are healed and I’ve been using Rosehip Oil on my face and it looks much better. The skin is still tender and my cheekbone is still painful but it’s healing. I’m back to doing everything I love to do. (except exposing my face to the full sun, or wearing make up)
I’ll keep changing with the times!
I mean what else can we do?
It will be FUN!

PS A diet tip I wouldn’t recommend. I remember my mother saying years ago that the only way to lose weight is to get sick or worry. We can add 'getting hurt’ to the list. Not being able to eat my favorite foods and taking twice as long to do it took 5 pounds off. Wonder how long it will take to put it back on? 5 minutes? lol Where’s the chips?

One of my other blog friends also uses that program and she was bemoaning its demise. I hope you can find something new to use. I just use the one that is at Blogspot. But then I am no computer whiz and I can figure this one out. It is not without its aggravations however. Glad your face is healing...I feel your pain as it was quite a while after my face plant that I wanted to show myself to the world.lol...

Oh I'm sorry to hear about the program you were using and 2 other blog people today were mentioning the same thing! I am so glad that you are healing and getting better. Have a wonderful weekend.

Changes are so hard!! I use the blogger new post part for my posts and haven't had any problems. Still I hate to have to learn something new. You will be fine. So glad the healing is going well. You really did take a big fall Sis! Pretty photos. Love ya!

Pretty flower!!! I use blogger and love it for making the posts - it lets you post date the day you want to publish and doing that allows you to go back and reformat the text, change photos, etc. Then you can change the posting date to current or for another day in the future - whatever you like. Hope you find something that makes it easy for you to post so we can keep enjoying your lovely blog. I'm glad you are healing - it does seem to take a long time. Happy weekend my dear friend.

Diane, I hate learning new ways to blog ...I am not that sharp on computers and it's tough. Glad you are feeling better. Stay away from those chips. LOL Blessings to you my friend, xoxo,Susie

I don't like changes. I always feel so lost at first. I am so glad that your face is healing. That must have been so painful. Your pictures are beautiful!

Sorry about Windows Live Writer, Diane. I'm not familiar with it, but I know what you mean about learning something and then having it disappear! I am so glad you are on the mend after that horrific fall, but it's really been slow going, hasn't it. And yes, there's just something about losing weight that is also much slower than gaining it. LOL Blessings on you, friend. Have a lovely weekend.

I understand your lament! After being a avid WLW user for most of my 7 years of blogging suddenly it stopped working for me in January.I ended up switching to the Blogger draft, and that was a learning curve. The only good thing about using Blogger to write my posts was that they did almost look like the draft when they were published. The WLR posts always looked slightly skewed if I went and changed anything in them later on.

Word Press is a learning curve, oh boy is it ever...but I'm happy here.

I'm sorry that they discontinued WLR, but am keeping the hope up for something wonderful to show up for the Blogger blogs.

Glad to hear that you are healing, I've been wondering how you are doing.

So happy to hear you're on the mend Diane. I hear ya about the weight...it would take me 5 minutes to put back on 5 pounds. I've never used Live Writer, but have heard about the changes.

So happy to hear that you are healing, Diane. I think I can definitely put on five pounds in five minutes and then take five years to get it back off LOL. I have never used anything but blogger to write my posts. Too lazy to learn anything else :)

Oh my, I'm so sorry about Windows Live Writer, Diane! I tried it once and it was just easier to do it my old way! Don't like change either, guess there are enough of them just aging! Glad you are getting better!

I'm so happy you're feeling back to normal. Have a fab weekend. xo

What's a gal to do? Would you believe that many of my posts are written in an email to myself? Strange, but true. Blogger has not always played nice.

So glad that you are healing. It wasn't long after you fell face first that I slammed my own head in the car door. Not recommended! My right cheek is still bruised, but I think of you and know that it could have been far worse.

I am so glad that your face is healing. It has been quite a process, hasn't it? I am sorry your Windows Live Writer is gone. I never used that. However, I use the blogger format and I do the same thing. Write my blog and then go back and plug my pictures in. Hope you get it figured out quick....It is always hard to learn a new process! xo Diana

Good luck with learning new technology! I've only used blogger and it definitely has its quirks. I've found that using it with Google chrome as my web browser makes a big difference. Keep on healing! Gentle hugs!

Ouch! Just thinking about what happened to you makes me hurt! Are you sure you didn't break your jaw? I never even heard of Window's Writer so I guess I'm glad now. I'm amazed at long it takes for me to heal anymore from the simplest things like a bruise or a cut. The wasp sting last year took 3 months and I have a scar from it! Isn't that crazy? I could go on and on how the aging process is actually very fascinating and also all the myths they perpetrate on t.v. about it. So glad you're a "survivor"!

Back away from the chips - back away slowly. Reach for the wonderful local fruit and berries. All those antioxidants are so good for your healing skin. Prudence will be back tomorrow and I know she is expecting a full report on your recover. Prepare yourself.....

Hugs and have a wonderful weekend.

I'm seeing posts about it all over blogger land..and I didn't even know what it was. I'm glad you are healing up- falls are so scary anyway, and the older I get the more it hurts!

Glad to hear that you are healing, Diane. It does take awhile, doesn't it?
I always just write my posts in "new post" in Blogger. I hope you find something to your liking. Change is never easy and sometimes I wonder why things that are working well need to be changed at all. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Techie people should take that to heart.
Have a good weekend.

I am glad you are healing. That is an unexpected side effect of getting hurt, to lose 5 pounds. Do not buy chips, ha ha. I just use blogger to write my posts.

Oh Diane,
The way you describe your fall is quite comical! (Though I seriously cringed and gasped when you first told us about it) It is a wonderful thing that you can keep your sense of humor even with the fall and its nasty consequences! You are a tough cookie so I have no doubt you will successfully find a new way to stay in touch with us in blogland and keep us in stitches! So happy that you are healing! I use blogger too!

Keep healing! Take good care of yourself!

Oh no! I know how much you liked this program. Was it me that introduced you to it? I can't recall. And I'm so sorry about your face! You're a glass half-full gal, so you never let anything get the best of you.

Diane, so happy that the mending is coming along. It seems the older we get the longer it takes to recover. I know you haven't let this get you down. I know that things are always changing for the most part for the better. It's good to let go and move on to new things. We are always learning. Hugs.

Oh my goodness, Diane, I had no clue that you fell. So sorry to hear, my friend. Falls are so dangerous. I'm glad you're better.
Catching up a bit today.

You're the 3rd blogger I've read that has this problem with Live Writer. I didn't even know what it was until I asked one of them. I do my writing right on Blogger and add my photos from Picasa. I didn't know there was any other way. LOL I'm glad you are improving each week after your fall. It sure takes a long time and a lot out of one. I hope you have a nice weekend. Hugs. Pam

I don't like change at all but you sometimes just have to go with the flow.
I'm so glad you are healing up, it is taking a while but all good things take time!!
Keep well.

Oh my goodness! Dearest Diane, I did not know that you had taken such a nasty tumble...I am so glad to hear you're healing now, but oh! How very horrid!

And change when it comes to computers and such is never nice! Even though I have grown up with computers and the internet and pretty much at ease with how they work, etc, I struggle to get into using something new and different...hope that makes you feel a little better - LOL! :)

Hope your weekend has been wonderful, Diane! I am off to a concert given by the South Cape Symphony Orchestra this evening with my sisters! This is not something we do too often, so yay! A special treat is always lovely:)

Hugs to you and lots of love!

I'm glad to hear that you are on the mend. Hey, I'll trade you a broken foot? How about a switch? LOL... I was so sad to say goodbye to Live Writer when I switched over to an iMac about 4 years ago. It was the only thing I missed on the Windows platform! But I adjusted to the Blogger editor and it has been improved in the last few years.

Glad to hear you are mending. It hurts just thinking about it.

Learning new things always takes time (that learning curve!), and I'm with you, it's so much nicer when what works is kept in place!

So glad you are feeling better now after your fall, and your injuries have healed. Sorry about the change to your blogging....I hate it when things change like that....takes a while to get used to working in a different way. Hope you soon get used to it........and enjoy eating your favourite things again too.

Glad to hear you are nearly mended Diane and I don't think your weight loss regime will have many takers! Sorry you've lost the Windows writer, I never used it but know of several bloggers who did. Hang in there, you'll get the hang of posting without it soon I'm sure.

I suppose that change, like many things in life, is a matter of perspective. You have such a wonderful, positive outlook, you'll make the best of it, I'm sure.
