Keeping me Company in the Lanai

I’m still having to take it easy and rest.

If you missed it, my ‘pitiful pearl’ post was HERE.

I think I’m going through the ‘feeling sorry for myself’ phase of healing.

But look who’s in the lanai with me.

Meet Trixie!

IMG_4759

I got this sweet doll from my friend, Maxie a couple of weeks ago. Her Etsy shop Prims and Annies is HERE.

And isn’t she smart?

She can already read.

IMG_4790

(she prefers vintage Winnie the Pooh books)

And we both have played Gummy drop a ‘few times’ this week.

IMG_5063

How can you feel bad when you look at this big smile.

I’ll have to wait to smile that big though.

My face needs to heal some more.

I’m joining the Vintage Inspiration Link party HERE,

and Roses of Inspiration.

That was a nasty fall - praying for a swift recovery for you. Your company is just the cutest, and I'm glad she's a smart reader, too. Enjoy your Tuesday!
p.s. I love my free backgammon app by AI Factory and use it a lot when I'm having to wait. It's a fun game... just in case you might be interested. ;)

What a sweet doll! She does look like good company! Continued healing my dear Sis! I got a call late last night that my oldest was riding her bike home from work and got hit by a car. She is OK, thank God, but it is so scary. She will be here this weekend and I can't wait to hug her(gently of course). She is bruised and banged up a bit but it could have been so much worse.
Hugs,
Linda

Dear Diane,
I'm sure you new friend is a good company through the healing process. She is cute, a good reader and she can handle a game of candy crush :-)
Your big smile and your cheerful self will shine amazingly again. I know how annoying it can be not to be able to do everything you used to do but for now rest and heal well.

Hugs,

Arlette

Oh Diane. I am so sorry that I missed your last post. I did not know that you had fallen. I have taken some bad falls, too. Broke my ankle very badly. I cannot image the pain you must be going through with your face all banged up. We do fall and seldom is it pretty. You do have a sweet little companion there to help you feel better as you heal. I hope you heal quickly and get back to your routine soon.

Oh Diane - I'm so sorry to hear about your mishap. I'm so glad you didn't break anything. I haven't had a chance to read many blogs for the last two weeks since the passing of my Mom. As you might imagine there was so many things to do with the services and helping Dad with finalizing any paper work that needed to be done.

Prayers to you my friend for quick healing. Take it easy and take care.

Sweet hugs
Pat

Oh gosh, Diane. I'm late in finding out about your "unfortunate event". How scary that must have been for all of you. I am so sorry to hear about it and especially to learn that you are still suffering from your injuries.
Annie's sweet and smiling face is sure to help you feel better. I hope it won't be much longer until you are able to smile as big as she is.
Take good care.

Very cute! Gotta tell you-- my grandmother once said her MIL told her she liked having dolls around (when she was older) because they kept her from feeling so alone. My grandma thought that sounded kind of silly at the time. Then she said, "Now that I'm her age, I know what she meant."

stopping in to see how you're feeling. Hopefully doing better? What a cute little doll! I love Raggedy Anns and hae about 7 of them, the old fashioned kind....Lord have mercy...those are next to impossible to find anymore!! I know because I went looking to get our granddaughter one for her second Christmas...stopped into Toys R Us and they not only didnt have any....they had NO IDEA what I was talking about! The young 'associate' said ragg annie? rag doll? like I was asking for something ancient or alien. HA HA HA HA Dolls today are hard plastic and "do things" electronically. I bought those few and far between for our girls...I wanted them to use their God-given imaginations when playing. Back then those hand held games were just coming in, game boy or something. I guess we were old fashioned parents and we are still old fashioned grand parents! ha! Anyway, little girls these days sure are missing out...not getting their Raggedy Anns and Andys to play with and snuggle with!
Continue to heal up, my friend!

PS I see you're reading another Diane Chamberlain. Isnt she so good??? Is this one good? I dont think I've read this one, I'll have to check my list

Hi Diane, I am so glad you are feeling better. I took a swan dive too about 6 years ago on buckled pavement...though not as bad as your fall it still hurt. It's amazing what your brain can process between the short time it takes to see that you are going to fall to the actual contact with pavement. Looks like Trixie is good company - so glad you like her. Thank you for the kind words and link to my Etsy page...you are such a special person. Take care and I know you will be back to normal soon.

How wonderful of Emilia in being the kind person to offer help and aid to you. I will pray for you that you have a quick recover and you'll be back to your old self soon. Hugs, prayers and blessings are sent to you, my friend.

Dear Diana ... mercy sakes alive! I just read about your accident and what a nasty fall. It's amazing nothing was broken. I pray you will recover speedily and completely.

Anonymous said...

Oh my, Diane! I seemed to have missed your news. I am so happy nothing missing/nothing broken, and I know your healing will be swift. I had a similar experience on a walk a couple of years ago. I tripped, was falling as if in slow motion, and though I got my arms out, they gave in. I knew my face would hit the pavement, so I buffered my lips around my teeth. I was cut above my lip and on my nose. But thank God, nothing missing/nothing broken.

Your doll friend is so sweet, and such good company for you. What a nice way to treat yourself to heal faster. Be blessed, my dear,
