A Walk at the Park

I’ve walked at Sholom Park a lot over the past 10 years but I still managed to see something new when I went this week.

The Wounded Heart Tree.

IMG_2050

The sign reads, “What may have caused such a Wound? All of us are also wounded, even the Greatest among us. Notice how this Tree still Stands Strong. How did this Tree learn to Deal with his hard times?”

IMG_2051

I don’t always stay on the path so I’ve missed seeing it in the past. We had a rain shower the night before so I was staying out of the wet grass and I’m glad I did.

WoundTree

Always something new or different to see when you get out in nature.

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and

Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday

and Amaze me Monday.

It was a beautiful day yesterday, it was cool and breezy while I was out all morning. Yes, no matter what path you take, the one outlined for you or your own, if your eyes are open, new things to see are there.

Interesting park... I don't think that this tree "learned" anything, but I know that people do as they yield their lives to God.

Sometimes we're blessed when we take "the road less traveled." And even wounded, we can grow tall and strong. Thanks for sharing, Diane. Have a wonderful week! xo

What a pretty place for a walk. I admire you for walking in the heat. I find myself hibernating indoors on these hot, humid days.

Diane, That tree proves that things want to live. I was amazed at a tree down the road...the entire tree was burls. It was cut down last year. You sure have some wonderful things to see on your hikes. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Hi Diane, what a lovely park. So true my friend, just like the tree. But with the help of the all mighty God we can over come and learn from our wounds. I love how he heals us.
Sending blessings,

Sometimes we need to stay on the pathway, just so we don't miss the good stuff. Then again sometimes we need to stray off it to see the different stuff!

Hello Diane
A loaded question presented by your beautiful visit to the park. A very special tree indeed.

It certainly pays to stray from the path in a park as you never know what you'll find. I'd almost think this was a tree with 2 main branches that were forked and one broke away for whatever reason. Of course, that's the gardener in me and I like the heart shape that was left behind.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Diane.

How lovely and meaningful my friend. To know nature, you first must get out there and use your senses to get the whole picture. I enjoyed this, as well as your new teapot set...I say spoons and tea bags ;)

Amazing tree - and wonderful pathways. I am always surprised when there are "new" things that I've missed on a tour of an area.
