Reading ebooks!

I’ve read just as many ebooks this summer as printed books. It’s just so easy to pick up my IPAD and READ!!!

index

I checked out The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh as an ebook from my library and it is very good. I’m about halfway through it and look forward to finding out if there is a happy ending for this story. It’s about a young woman who has had a terrible life and clings to her study and understanding of the language of flowers. A quote, “I had been loyal to nothing except the language of flowers. If I started lying about it, there would be nothing left in my life that was beautiful or true.”

There’s a great deal on the whole set of Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple ebooks at Amazon, $5.99!!!

I had just finished reading one of them when Judy from Cranberry Morning told me about the sale. These books are easy to read and I love Miss Marple! (wish they had more of the movies with the actress, Margaret Rutherford. She’s our favorite!)

I’m joining Ricki Jill for Literary Friday.

Happy Reading!!!

I read that book and it was good. I just started reading a book by Sue Monk Kidd and it's wonderful. I too love my Kindle as it's so easy to take with me. Happy Summer Reading!

I have been reading from my tablet this summer. It is nice, but I do like holding a book better I think. That is a good deal on the books!

Thanks so much for linking-up, Sweetie! I really enjoyed The Language of Flowers. It was hard getting through the first part, though. I want to know your thoughts once you've finished!

I hope you have a great weekend. So happy it's here...this has been the first full week of school. We're tired!

I like your banner, BTW. So cute!

Lots of lovely reading there, Diane! I love Miss Marple too and the whole world of Agatha Christie. I've been reading books on my Kindle a lot this summer...so light to carry about and you can 'get' a book as soon as you want to read it. I do love real books still too, but for quick and easy reading I love this 'new fangled' thing :)
Happy weekend.

I Loved the Language of Flowers!! I notice this author has a new one coming out or may be out by now. I look forward to reading it. And who would not love Miss Marple? Joan Hickson's portrayal of Miss Marple remains my favorite.

I was very glad I read The Language of Flowers. It gave me a new heart for children in the foster care system and especially for those who "time out" at 18. We have such vast resources in this country hat it is a crying shame that more thought, effort and money could not be put into helping these young people get on a path to a good future.

Even though I've never read e-books, I just don't like reading things on screen for long periods, I'm determined to try it soon! And yes Margaret Rutherford remains my favorite Miss Marple!

Oh, I love your recommendations! I have a lot to blog about and books is one of them but not today....maybe Monday. I too love Miss Marple and I "loaned" my Agatha Christies to someone who never returned them so I have only a couple. I need to go order that set...what a bargain!
I may even get one for a Christmas gift for someone.
Were you the one who told me about Kate Morton and her books? The Forgotten Garden and The house at Riverton etc? Love her! I just finished The Forgotten Garden and it was excellent. What a great writer she is. Our library doesn't have ebooks...I wish they did. I wonder if I could use another library that does have them? Maybe a big city library or do you have to pay taxes in that area in order to? Probably but I will check it out. I loved the libraries we had in Iowa. There were 3 or 4 I availed myself of. So glad to be back visiting you! I still have to catch up but it's outside work today! TTYL!

Great reads. Soon I will be reading student essays. No fun reading. And sewing, perhaps.

I read The Language of Flowers last year and loved it. Agatha Christie is a favorite of mine, too. But I don't have an e-reader and don't really want one. I've read a few books from my daughter's reader and really prefer the tactile article in my hands. But if I ever take a long trip on a plane, I'll be looking for an e-reader!

I must check out the Agatha Christie ebook, and I agree about our favourite Miss Marple. I went through a phase where I read all ebooks, now I seem to be back to the print versions.

I've never gotten used to reading on my tablet, still prefer to hold a real book in my hands!

Wow - you certainly did get a bargain on your books - you will have good reading for some time now.

I'm reading "On Island Time" - it is an autobiography about a lady who moved to an island just off the coast of British Columbia - very interesting.

As you probably know, Diane, the biggest problem with e-books is that it's so tempting to hit that Buy Now button when it means the book will instantaneously be in your hands! :-)

Our book club read The Language of Flowers last year. We all really enjoyed it. Can you believe I've never read Agatha Christie? I must remedy that!
