Spaceship lands in Florida carrying…

Well, we’re not sure what it was carrying but if it was aliens, they are teeny tiny.

spinyorbcropIMG_5138

This Spiny Orb-Weaver had spun it’s web across the hiking trail on the Florida trails. Click HERE to read more about it.

spinyorbDSCN0401

Doesn’t it look just like a little miniature spaceship? It was about a half inch across.

I couldn’t see the details until I had the photo on my computer. It doesn’t look real, does it?

(sumac in pretty Fall colors)

It was beautiful weather this weekend and we enjoyed a 2 hour hike on Saturday.

I know it’s hard to believe it was in the 80s when so much of the country is getting cold weather.

But it’s Florida!

You can tell you’re hiking in Florida when you see palm trees growing wild in the forest!

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and

Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday.

Your spider picture is so cool, Diane! I've never seen one like that. Love the sumac too. In Texas we don't get lots of fall color. Sumac is one thing that we do see and I love it.

Hello, what a cool looking spider. I've never seen one like this. The fall colors and your mosaic are lovely. I wish it was in the 80's here. I like the Florida forest. I enjoyed this post.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

That is one creepy spider, and I have never seen one like it. We are in the 20s in Texas today, but 70 by Thanksgiving day with rain.

Diane, I know my hair would have stood on end , if I had seen that thing in person. Too scary. You are having some awful warm temps. Hope your new week is a fun filled one. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Wow - that is an amazing spider - the only spiders we have here are all dark. It does look like a teeny tiny space ship - if you hadn't give the size I would have believed it was landing from another galaxy. Love the palm tree in the forest. Happy week my friend.

Enjoy your beautiful weather! We had our first snowfall on the weekend, but only 5 cm and it's going to rain, so it'll be gone!!

What an unusual little spider Diane! I like to photograph them too because they're so interesting but don't let one crawl on me. LOL
Poor you with weather in the 80s lavender sis while the snow is starting to blow up here.

Lorrie said...

You're right - it doesn't look very real. It looks downright alien! I wouldn't want to have one of those crawling on me.
Enjoy the heat, it's cooling off here - frosty mornings, and another wind and rain storm is blowing in.

What a fun (and creepy) looking spider! I think I'd have a fit if I saw one blocking the trail with it's web. LOL The Sumac is very pretty and it's interesting to see the palm tree growing in the forest. Enjoy the 80's. Haha. It's going way below freezing here tonight and we got our first snow today. Hugs. I am going to have nightmares about walking into a spider web with THAT alien spider on it---I just know it...and if I do I am going to call you in the middle of the night to TELL you about it....lol It kind of creeps me out. lol

Sure-sure-rub in that wonderful weather. I'll have you know that we are having a heat wave this week- breaking records and may get into the low 40s! Hard to believe, huh? xo Diana

That is an amazing spider--full of color. Obviously doesn't care about blending in with his background. I think you had cooler weather today. A nice change?

Wow what an interesting spider. You captured great shots. I've never seen one like this before. So nice you are still enjoying nice warm weather. We've cooled off a lot but during the day it is beautiful and only need a light jacket or none at all. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving sweet friend. xo

Oh my goodness, what a unique spider, I am wondering if you saw anymore or was he alone? I think I would have hesitated getting too close to him!
We finally are getting our Fall weather and it feels good to me, it has been a very long hot Summer in this tiny apartment.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Jemma

Diane, I am not afraid of spiders until I saw this one. Yikes. It is so ugly. I would definitely smash it as swiftly as I could.

So that's what it is. He's kind of cute!

Happy Thanksgiving down there in balmy Florida. =D

I'm still not convinced that it's not an alien spaceship, Diane. :-)
