'A Victorian Christmas'

What fun I had using a couple of different patterns to come up with a pretty Victorian style dress for my doll Ginger.

And it looked even better when I went through some old lace and found a scrap of unfinished crochet to use for a little cape for her.

I thought she looked like Jo from Little Women.
I have her posed with Rose now.

JoAnn and I have been busy making Christmas outfits for our 18 inch Madame Alexander dolls.
Visit her blog HERE.
Ana has a dollie post today too!
Visit her HERE

Ginger has her very own needlepoint stocking and a toy box filled with dolls.

Thanks for joining us again this week
for Wednesday Wee Ones!

I’m joining Roses of Inspiration
the Vintage Inspiration Link party HERE,

Don’t forget to
take time to PLAY!!!

Ginger looks ready for Christmas. Her Christmas dress is beautiful. I have been collecting bits and pieces of lace from the thrift stores recently and it is nice to have some on hand. As I collect pins on Pinterest, I am left in awe at how beautiful these dolls are and what joy they bring. I got our little 3 year old granddaughter a MA for Christmas and can't wait to see her open it up. I've made six dresses for the little girls on my list who have the dolls and ordered the cutest little matching Mary Janes from a web site called Silly Monkey. All, mostly, because of how you have inspired me. I enjoy seeing your dolls so much. Snow here. 18 degrees in the sun.

They are both beautiful, Diane, but I just love ginger's dress with the 'lacy' top! So pretty. She's all set to start watching Downton Abbey with us! (Okay, I know it's a different era, not Edwardian, but...)

Have a wonderful day, friend.

Jo was my favourite in Little Women! The dress is just beautiful & what a stroke of genius to put the crochet with it for a shawl!

Ginger has such a lovely tree and gifts. All of our dolls are busy decorating - it is nice to have the help. We almost matched again this week - love the dress you made with the red fabric - and the sweet bow in Miss Ginger's hair - and her friend is so cute, helping to decorate. I love this week's post - it has been fun. Have a grand week my friend.

Your doll outfit is lovely and I like that she is my favorite character in Little Women. The shawl is something--is that your crocheting? I would love to learn to crochet lace.

Aahh, your Victorian doll is pretty, Diane, and her red dress is just right for Christmas. I used to be into the Victorian decorating a long time ago, and to this day, I still love it. There's something about this era that speaks to me.

Ginger does look lovely in her lace shawl and her festive holiday dress. Rose looks quite fetching in her red dress and I love the red shoes too. Their tree and the toy box full of dolls as well as the needlepoint stocking makes for a beautiful vignette I am sorry to say my girls don't have any new holiday clothes for Christmas. Play time has been very limited lately.
