Beauty in unexpected places!

We love to hike and we always find beauty on the trails and along the rivers and swamps here in Florida.

DMosa

These were just a few flowers that we saw on the hike we took beginning at the Blue Run Park in Dunnellon.

The tree is a Bald Cypress.

According to Wikipedia HERE, “Unlike most other species in the family Cupressaceae, it is deciduous, losing its leaves in the winter months, hence the name 'bald'.”

The bird is a pine warbler. We’ve had dozens of warblers, gold finches and chipping sparrows return to our feeders this week. They are always fun to see.

And for the unexpected?

The artists that work at the The Cutting Edge Hair Studio were painting the windows when I arrived to get my hair cut last week. I think everyone in there is artistic. And a special thanks to Pam for making me beautiful all year round. (or at least trying to! haha)

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and

Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday.

Beautiful! I bet a lot of birds migrate to Florida in the winter.

Excuse me, may I please put in a request ;)...I need those Warblers to return to KY, because I am really missing them...a bunch. I love them and they migrate to and from my yard. In the big city of Louisville there are 5 different species of Warblers that remain here. Bless them, I hope they can survive this Winter coming~

Another beautiful spot to hike...and lovely fall color especially the Bald Cypress...I have a small one...I wonder if it will ever get that big. I will have to keep it in check....and I agree the stylists are very artistic as you can see from those paintings. Happy Holidays!

Gosh, I read two posts and left all my comments on the Giveaway post, so sorry. I love the birds, watching them and feeding them. I am amazed bald cypress trees can grow in water. They are so beautiful. We have camped at a Delaware State Park where the northernmost stand of bald cypress trees is.

Diane,
Hi, how are you? Another beautiful spot in Florida! The bird is so pretty! I saw my very first black squirrel right in my own backyard. I don't believe they are native to these parts but I thought of you immediately as I remember your post about a black squirrel. I will keep my eyes out now for yellow birds, lol!
