We DID IT!!!

We made our 50th hike this week!!!

Even in record breaking temps! (it was 85 degrees!)

We hiked the Florida Trails because we knew we would have more shade in the pine forest. We even had a nice breeze. (but it was still HOT)

Do you remember when we found the "Easter Egg tree" a few years ago?

About a mile from the trail head, deep in the pine forest, there's a tree that is decorated every time we go by. Usually we go in the Spring just to see it, so what a nice surprise to see it decked out in Christmas ornaments.

This is 'me' looking up

taking this photo.

You just never know what you'll see!

I’m joining Tex for the

The entrance to this trail doesn't look very interesting but walk through and find out what's beyond.

Here's to another great year of hiking and
spending time enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.

Someone has a lot of fun decorating the tree for others to enjoy! A very cool thing to do. Glad that you found it. Fifty hikes is a lot. Are you setting that goal again for 2016?

Good for you both - hiking is so health beneficial! Years ago my big brother walked the entire Appalachian Trail (Maine to Georgia,) and I still can't believe he did that! it took over hald a year to do it!

I soooo need to get moving more in 2016! Swimming is a favorite for me, and just got a new better fitting swimming suit last week. Yay.

That decorated tree is NEAT! Wonbder who does it - and way out there to boot, how surprising and fun!

May your new year be blessed with good health, laughter, love and peace.

Aahh, that's wonderful that the tree on the trail is decorated for Christmas. You don't see that often deep in the forest. But God is all around us, and what a beautiful reminder this is. Wow, your 50th hike, that's amazing, Diane.

Happy New Year to you, my friend.

Congrats on a very respectable 50 hikes - I'm impressed!

I have a blogger friend that just did a post on a Christmas ornament trail in Oregon. I think these are so cool. I'd love to start something like that in Chicago but I'm afraid it would be vandalized around here.

Happy New Year Diane! xo

50 hikes - job well done. And an extra surprise finding the Christmas Tree.

Yay for accomplishing 50 hikes last year! That's is awesome Diane. The decorated tree is so interesting. I've sen people posting pictures of just one ornament on a tree on a trail which is kind of neat to see too. Keep up with the hiking in 2016!
