horses...horses...horses!!!

We live in the 'horse capital of the world' and see horses and horse trailers every time we go out. There are horse farms between our house and our grocery store and the library.

Doesn't this horse trailer look 'retro'? (and it stopped next to a fence just for good fences)

A smaller trailer had this on the front.

And this is a mailbox I spotted with a horse on top. They need to trim around it but I like it just the way it is.

I usually brag about the weather here in Florida but this week we've had some days in the 50s with WIND! It sure feels chilly! How's your weather?

A week of 50's and 60's here, then more winter. I don't much like wind and we do get our share. I would be right at home in your horse country. There are big horse operations here, too. A very expensive hobby. Then there are Our two old guys, enjoying s peaceful retirement.

Hello, I like the painting of the horses and the horse on the mailbox. Great fence finds. It is °19 here this morning, very cold and windy! Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

Looks like horse country to me Diane. It reminds me of the area around Lexington, Ky. It has been very cold here too as well. We hope it makes it to 49 today!!

I do like the mailbox and horse! We've had cold grey weather so it's been nice to see some sunshine today!

Neat pictures! I like the mailbox with its long grass. My weather? Try nine degrees. I'll take your fifties!!

The mailbox with the horse is very picturesque. Our temperatures have been in the 40s which is a bit higher than usual for this time of year. But I don't mind one little bit! Stay warm, Diane!

I like all the horses this morning, Diane! I especially like the mailbox and its post. Fun photos today. And yes, that trailer sure does look 'retro.' :-) MINUS 15 for us this morning, and believe me, I'm not a fan. LOL

Hello!:) I like your original post, and love the horse paintings and would really like a mailbox like that one with the horse, which is a great fence shot.

What fun! I always try to peak inside and look at the horses when we see them traveling on the freeway - from the passenger seat that is ;) Enjoyed your post and thanks so much for visiting me and leaving a comment. Have a great day :)

I would love to live in real horse country. I'm surprised that Kentucky doesn't have that distinction of horse capital. You got some nice shots.
We woke up to -15C this morning with a bitter wind. But the sky is really clear and blue ... very deceiving! A last blast of our non-winter.

Beautiful ! We see a lot of agricultural land between our house and everywhere we go too, but not many horses ( this is more cattle country, or maybe goats and donkeys) ..there are a few pretty horses in the Eagle pasture down the street and those are the only ones I've seen.. But all the rural area ... For animals and crops ... was such a surprise to us the first time we came to Florida ... It's not what you read about when you live across the country. I like it all a lot.

Loved the horse mailbox next to the fence. I chuckled that you found 50 degrees cool. Here it's been in the 50's and we think that's warm for this time of the year.

I always enjoy seeing the horse farms in Florida; we don't have many in our state. That is a nifty horse trailer! Stay warm.

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

Our weather - bitter cold and snowy. Now we LOVE the snow, it flurried all day yesterday, but that bone chilling cold can leave anytime, today (afternoon) it's so windy, the wind chill factor is in the low 20* Tomorrow they say snow showers, and on Monday - something big is brewing. But we love it up here and we love the winter, and spring is only several weeks away.

Hugs,
Prudence

Great pics and I should live there as I love horses! Weather here is brisk and windy....and there's something coming Monday I think...cold and maybe ice? It's not bad...pretty mild compared to other winteres here...can't complain at all. We had the same temps as you but that's our average for this time of year...some 60's.

I'd enjoy all those horses, and I like the mailbox the way it is, too. Yesterday the high here was 18º, it is 25º right now. 50 sounds good!

Rain - what can I say? We live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains. We are ducks - we love our rain. The horse trailer is very cool- and love the horse on the mail box. Hope you get warmer weather - we'd like some too but it is too early for that just yet. Have a grand weekend my friend.

Love that mailbox! And all your other photos in all your previous posts that I just caught up on! And if you think 50 is cold, well, come on up to St. Louis. It's 26 right now, but feels like 14!! Burrrr. However, I do like the winter. Will try and write soon! Been busy creating.

Love your photos as usual! I would love some 50's!!! Wind chill tonight is supposed to be -37. Now that's chilly!!!!! It's been a very mild winter for us so we are not used to this cold....my hands are like ice! So I'm heading down to stay with you in sunny Florida! Leave the front light on my friend!

Keep cozy! It's a brisk 9 degrees here and it doesn't look that it will get all that much warmer today. Lots of coffee and warm thoughts here. Happy Valentines Day!
