Florida Frontier Day at Rainbow Springs State Park

We had a fun day attending Frontier Day at Rainbow Springs last weekend.

It was nice and cool to start the day (and warmer that afternoon)

When our kids were here a couple of weeks ago, they had some fun leaving 'rubber' frogs and turtles all over my house. I'm still finding them! haha!

So I took a tiny green frog along for the day. (it's on the sign AND on my shoulder!)

And a good blogger is not worth her salt if she won't ask the Park Ranger to pose with a toy frog in his hands and a big smile on his face!

And I asked permission before I posed him on the edge of a plate of crackers but I didn't see anyone to ask about the moonshine still.

Hubby bought Kettle Corn and I bought treasures and a fun day was had by all.

Oh, the band was playing songs from the movie, O Brother and they were GOOD!

Lots of interesting  demonstrations.

I’m joining Beautiful Sunday and
Lavender Cottage for Mosaic Monday
and Amaze Me Monday HERE  and Talk of the Town HERE and
Thoughts on Home on Thursdays HERE.

Have you been to a Festival yet this Spring
or to a State Park in your area?

What a lovely post, Diane!
I'm especially interested in the jams and marmalades. :) They look really tasty, even though I don't know how tomato marmalade could be...
Thank you for sharing these happy spring photos! Have a great week ahead!

Cute little frog. I'd prefer him to be plastic. I wonder if you bought the box--it looks like a good find.

That looks like a very pleasant time under the trees and your little green frog was such a good companion. Hope that hubby was, too.

Hi Diane,

This looks like a fun day with your little green buddy (and your hubby too). :-D Your grandchildren will get a kick out of these pics! Our son loves the music from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou." Your pictures and mosaics are lovely, as always, Diane. Thanks so much for your visit and have a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Love the frog fun. I have posted awhile ago about our game with 'Sophie' the dove decoy. The RG got me big time last week. I will have to share that saga sometime.

Looks very interesting, and like you had fun! I don't go to festivals, crowds and noises don't work well for some in our home. xoxo Su

I was wondering at first if that was a real frog - then saw your explanation - what fun to find them all about the house. Everyone was a good sport about posing - I always find that a fun thing to do - makes people friendlier I think, when they join in the fun. The photos are lovely and it looks like a fabulous event. We've not been to any events yet this spring - too rain for events to be planned yet. But there will be lots to see later in the season.

Your header is beautiful - just glows.

Have a fabulous week my sweet friend - I'll see you on Wednesday for the Wearin' O' the Green.

You really participate in some interesting activities. I'm cracking up over this post. The frog thing had me going....

I remember about twenty years ago one of the teachers' families at our school had a little fisher price man, and he would stalk certain family members, and when they found him in their room, purse, backpack, etc. they had to get rid of him ASAP and "give" him to another unsuspecting family member. It was fun to hear about the little guy's adventures! Anyway your frog reminds me of him.

What a fun festival, Diane! The green frog was a fun prop to include. We don't see many real live frogs here, but i know they are all around Florida's ponds.
We have visited a couple state parks lately as we bought season passes this year --a wonderful deal!

It's a little early for festival here but we ARE enjoying weather in the 50's and even a few 60's. I saw a few garage sale signs last weekend -- the first of the season! You look like you really enjoyed your day -- cute pics of the ranger-man.

No festival here yet, but soon!
It certainly looks like you had a lot of fun. The Great Dane would have loved the music.

No festivals yet this year but during the summer and autumn we attend a few. Loved the green frog. Remember that FROG means Fully Rely on God. A friend of mine decorated the baby nursery in frogs as a reminder of how to parent her little one.

Now that certainly looked like a fun-filled day! I can't help be reminded when you mentioned leaving rubber frogs and such of what we used to do when we had family and close friends at our cabin...and since we have always had dogs....my son started it by leaving fake rubber doggy doo-doo on the floor of the guest room...lol! Not very classy but it sure was funny and we laughed and laughed! Those little frogs sure are cuter, though :D

Judith @ Lavender Cottage said...

Wow, what a fun event that was! Haha, we'd do the same thing with rubber frogs etc. I once did it with little plastic ants. lol
Isn't it funny when we get someone to pose for us and put them on our blog. I remember the young fellow in Ireland serving us scones that posed for me. Got to love them...
I started an I Love Purple (closed) group on FB, if you're interested you can Google the name and ask to join if you're interested lavender sis.

Diane, that sounds like a delightful day! My next "nature" outing is going to be to a zoo or animal preserve of some kind. We're feeling the need to visit some big cats and/or gibbons.

This looks like so much fun. We get down pretty often, so many places in FL I love! That trooper looks so cute posing with the frog, a good sport too. When my grandson visits I find all kind of little cars, foam darts and stickers after he leaves. It makes me smile.
It is 87 degrees here, hot already!
Happy spring to you……….

Thank you for stopping by my blog. This looks like it was a wonderful event. One of the nice things about the warmer weather is that there are so many activities to do outside. Now I am looking forward to some spring outings!
