Withlacoochee River

A few more photos taken on the hike with our family on Blue Run Trail in Dunnellon, FL.

My daughter in law pointed out how pretty the reflections were on the river.

And our granddaughter saw this Ibis wading in the marsh along the trail.

He had a nice reflection, too!

Our grandson used his sharp eyes to see this green lizard on the tree.

Can you see how beaded he looks up close?

And my son noticed this small alligator on top of the vegetation striking a nice pose for photos.

Do you see that huge leaf in the upper right of this photo.

This was a baby alligator, about 2 ft long.

We don't see alligators very often. Most of the trails we hike are high and dry. We saw this baby gator off the Withlacoochee River bridge. They inhabit swampy marsh areas and we don't have many of those in this part of Florida. (this info is especially for Vee! lol)

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE
and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

We hope to go back again this weekend.
Do you have any adventures planned?

Hello Diane, wonderful photos and critters from your family outing. Your grandson has a great eye, I like the cute green lizard. The Ibis is pretty and the reflections are beautiful. The baby gator still looks big, great closeup.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

Hi Miss Lavender Dreams,

It's chilly and stormy looking up here. Snow tonight? I don't think so but the higher elevations will see some white stuff.

Happy Spring.

Lovely pictures of the baby alligator. I must admit I wouldn't hang around long just in case there was a protective adult close by.

Lovely pics -- You need to rotate that second picture. If you do, it will look like a tree with the leaves on it -- does that make sense? I love that picture!

So beautiful in your part of Florida! But, hey, we have more alligators (many people would not see that as an advantage!).. Cool that your family got to visit and got to spot so many great Florida icons! That lizard is amazingly like a beaded toy. I never noticed that before. Will look more carefully next time I see one like that. Wow.

I knew it the minute I saw that baby alligator! You've been pulling a fast one on me all this time telling me that they are not around too much. There he is!

The reflections on the water are very pretty... Glad that you and your family enjoyed a pleasant outing.

What fun adventures! I just love the lizard - what a beauty. The reflections are fabulous - I've never seen an Ibis - what a glorious bird. We don't have any special adventures planned - but when we take our rides on sunny afternoons we often have an unplanned adventure - sometimes the most fun. Happy weekend my friend - I'm off to sew something white and fun.

Hello Dianne!:) Another nice family outing, and thanks for sharing these fab creatures you saw together. Great Íbis shots and the reflections are lovely, as is the gorgeous green lizard...what a beauty. Can't say the same for the gator, it might be the only young creature that I don't find to be cute, but the images are splendid.
Have a happy Sunday!:)

Thank you for taking us along on this walk. You saw some great sights and your photos were sharp and clear, especially picking up the textured skin on the lizard. Cute little thing and such a pretty color. Never seen a baby alligator before, just his great grandparents at the Everglades a couple of years ago :) Happy Sunday to you!

Please send me your mailing address and I'll get the bunny shipped to you asap. kklprimitives @ verizon . net

Hi Diane, Red-Shouldered Hawks, I hope you share them and I will not miss them. These shares are all just so what I would imagine on a walk in Florida. I am thinking I may visit my youngest daughter in May down in Deerfield Beach in May. I have to deal with these health issues and I will pray. Keep sharing your beauty~

Great photos and so nice you could share your beautiful nature with your grands. Children need to gain an appreciation early on so they can be it's future protectors.
