It's a Pine Warbler on the finch feeder! Updated!

I studied The Sibley Guide to Birds but I'm still not sure what this warbler is, specifically.

We see a lot of warblers here in Florida and have identified many.

But this one flew in to the finch feeder all by his lonesome and he had so much more color throughout his body and head. I can also see the bands of white on his wings. But that still hasn't helped me narrow it down.

He only came one day but I happened to be outside with my little Nikon Coolpix P310. It doesn't have much of a zoom so I cropped some of the photos to give you a better look.

Any of your birders know which warbler he is? I'll update this post if we can ID him! We have lots of birds that migrate through Florida at this time of year so he might have been headed to far away lands!

Eileen identified this sweet bird. I looked up both of the birds she mentioned and decided this must be a Male Pine Warbler. We've seen Pine Warblers on our hikes in the pine forest here in Florida but they were never this brightly colored. It closely resembles the Palm Warbler that Ann mentioned too! But according to this photo and the website All About Birds HERE, he must be a brightly colored Pine Warbler!

Thanks everyone for your help and especially Eileen and Ann! I knew you could do it!

 I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

Google Palm Warbler and see if your bird matches. I don't think we have seen this guy here. Many of the warblers come up from Central and South American, lingering here there along the way to get a bite to eat as they head to Canada. Can you imagine that flight? We have a variety of warblers that pass through here, but I've not seen this one, so it may be returning to your feeder. Great photos, by the way. Oh. And look a drab colored female.

Hello, these are beautiful photos and a gorgeous bird. I am tossed between the Pine Warbler and the Yellow-throated Vireo. The bill looks like the Vireo bill, the yellow color and spectacles and a little streaking on the breast look more like the Pine Warbler. Maybe another blogger will be able to tell for sure. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.

He's a delicate little beauty! I have always liked yellow too, he makes you feel cheerful to look at him. Hope you have been well, my health has gone downhill a bit but I'm adjusting....have a glorious day in the sunny Florida...for me too. We are chilly and grey here today.

Pretty bird! We live in LA, and we're trying to attract finches to our yard. We see them every now and then. Someone told us to get thistle seed, and we did along with a feeder that was supposed to be for finches. They or any bird, ever ate a bite of it.
So what kind of seed do you buy for the finches? We have so many squirrels that eat up almost anything we buy. They hand on the feeders no matter where we put them, but they wouldn't eat the thistle seeds either.

Definitely a warbler...if it were a vireo as Eileen says, I think the vireos have a much longer more stout beak. And they're not as plumb in the body like a warbler is.

You get an A+ for IDing. I know what a difficult, challenging task it is to get the proper species sometimes. The streaked breast is a good distinctive mark for the Pine W.

For the weekend, I want to send along my thanks and appreciation for sharing your link at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

What a cutie

I'm back....I too said PINE Warbler...NOT palm warbler.

And the reason it's so brightly colored is it's no doubt in breeding coloration.

Diane, It's a pretty bird and if he can sing...all the better. LOL. I just saw a baby robin learning to fly here..that seems so fast. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

So adorable! I saw the tinest bird in my tree this week, no bigger than a humming bird but it was a regular bird. I wonder how often I miss them because they are so small!
