The Inglis Bypass Spillway

This was a fun drive and neat area to visit. There was a nice playground, picnic area and ball fields. Nothing was being used the day we went because of the summertime heat.

I think most people in this part of Florida stay inside or get out in the water.

It’s always a little cooler near the water.

(no swimming here though)

Don’t you love these beautiful cloud formations?

We’ve had a few pop up showers so everything is still green and beautiful.

Have you been able to get out this summer to see the sights in your area? There’s so much to see on the backroads here in Florida.

Hello, pretty shots of the water, dam and sky. Great fence finds too. I like the sky and cloud capture. I hope you are staying cool. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

It has been so hot here that we have been staying inside Diane. Hoping the showers we get today and tomorrow will cool things down a bit

Just looking at your pretty water photos makes me feel cooler!

It's so green where you are! We are in the middle of our usual season of drought so lawns are brown all over. Green is the decoration of our winter gardens!

Beautiful, as always. Seems like I haven't read a post from you lately Diane. Am I missing them or just running behind?

In my old age, I've gravitated away from an eagerness to be up with the sun...the only time the air is cool enough to breath in the Tampa Bay area. So in the summer I shoot for short outings near sunset.

A beautiful area and I;m sure if it was cooler you could enjoy a picnic there!
We've been hindered in our outings because of rain!
Enjoy your day!

Diane, I think it's fun to go off the main roads. You can find some unusual things and pretty places to relax. The heat has been keeping us in here in Indiana too. Not all the time but in the hot part of the day. I am going to try to sit on the porch this afternoon and write letters. Blessings to you, xoxo, Stay cool girl, , Susie

Good you have some water to cool of by. I did some exploring in the spring. Any time except summer is best in this area.

My husband moved me (dragged me) to Hernando from Indiana six years ago and I am only now losing my terrible homesickness for real grass, real dirt, and hills. A friend sent me your blog and I'm hoping your photos and different way of looking at Florida will help lift my depression.

My recent post shows where I live in detail. Pretty isolated. We are thinking about coming to the Best Western Yacht motel that sits out on the water for my birthday this weekend.

We just did a drive through of a spillway area...same types of scenery. Our swim area shut down though because of undercurrents and alligators. I remember years ago when all the area lakes had nice swim areas. The gators have taken over around here.

Good find for Good Fences! And I do love that beautiful shot of cloud formations!

That spillway reminds me of one that I saw in Poland, only it was into a lake.

Love the fence shot :) I think it is so nice when people get out and look for the beauty that is right under their noses . . . too many people travel hundreds and thousands of miles to see beautiful sights and never stop to realize that other people are traveling to their area and admiring the things we take for granted. "Stop and smell the roses that are in your own garden". Thanks for reminding us of that.
Keep Smiling!
Connie :)

Beautiful area to visit! The clouds have been so pretty here but the temps have been so bad. We have had a few days of 90s which is about 10 degrees lower than we have been.

Have a good weekend.

Awesome. It's BROWN here. Glad to read someone is getting rain to keep things green.
I like this area you shared.

PS...your BBQ sounds heavenly.

All so very interesting -- and those clouds look as if they've been raked! I've never seen any quite like that, but Florida clouds are the best clouds without a doubt.

PS: Thank you for your thoughtful comment on the Malheur,

glad you're getting some rains. we're trying, but so far they've not amounted to much more than sprinkles. i like that walk-thru gate area.

Looks like a great place to have a picnic or take a stroll! I was just thinking how interesting those clouds were when I scrolled down and saw that you thought so, too :) The sound of moving water is always so soothing to me. I haven't been too many places this summer due to the Mr. and his work schedule, but a stay at home summer is o.k. for a change. Hope you have a lovely weekend, Diane. xx K
