A ‘Smashing Success’!

I’ve had fun ‘crafting’ this summer.

DSCN2160

I bought some of the Smash Journals when they were on sale awhile back and worked in one of them.

I’ll share some pages.

And you can sneak a peek inside my private journal! haha! (I’ll add some personal notes to the pages later)

I’ve always pulled pages out of magazines and cut things out.

Just things I like and quotes I enjoy,

anything that catches my eye.

Hubby walked in when I was working on this one.

Maybe I should leave it open to these pages for awhile!

And it gives me a chance to make a big mess and live in it for awhile. I’m a pretty big neat freak so it’s good to get out of my comfort zone from time to time.

Do you keep a journal? I keep several.

Love your journals. That is something I would like to do, just haven't sat down to do it.

That looks like something I could get into! Even with the apparent chaos, there is something very disciplined about what you do with your journals, and they must be a treat to look back on.

Wonderful journals. I start one and stop ... start and stop. I admire that you stay with it! I giggled about "leaving this one opened" -- great page and good idea! Ha! Happy Monday!

I love doing the same thing Diane!! I love your pretty pages.

Hello Diane, your journals look wonderful. I always wanted to do journals on traveling. I guess I would need to buy the journals first. You have some fun pages. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Pulling images from magazines and putting them into journals is a great way to relax. I have a love/hate relationship with smash journals. I like not facing a blank page but find I get too involved in trying to match the page to the images I want to put down ... detracts from my creative process. Thank you for sharing your journal.

Love 'em! Nice to go back and look at them, isn't it? And, yes, it's hard not to make a mess when paper crafting. Glad you showed them!

I've always wanted to do a journal but never seemed to have the time. I think I need to make the time. I'll add this to my bucket list! Thanks Diane for your inspirations.

These remind me of how I used to make altered books. Very similar except using the pages of a real book. Maybe I should do a blog about my trip to England altered book. Yours look very neat and tidy. I'm guessing a lot of bloggers have journals, since we all seem to love to write. I journal less, I will say, since I started blogging. But do print my blogs each year so I guess they become real journals of my life.

How fun to take some time to play. I like journaling too, but mostly writing. I have one journal that's just for quotes I collect along the way. I like the idea of the smash journals but have never done one.

Diane, I really like this journal...I think I might try one. It would be such fun. I could make one thru the year and give it to one of my girls or grands. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

You're so talented and you have so much fun ... both shine through every one of these beautiful pages. I used to keep a travel journal (just written) when we were full-time RVers (it helped me remember where I was, LOL)... but I don't now -- my blog posts kind of serve as reminders of the highlights (or just regular days for that matter).

I like your idea of journaling with pictures, Diane. I write important things down, that I read, or want to remember, into a little notebook.

I've tried many times to keep a journal but my enthusiasm wanes after a while, creating smash books is a great way to add impact to the journaling.
Thanks for sharing your pages with us on Mosaic Monday.

Now that looks like fun. Very relaxing. There is something to be said about this sort of journaling. I can only imagine the conversations that you have with yourself. A bit of us never grew up; isn't that wonderful!

Your journals are so fun and very unique! I used to scrapbook, in fact, I made both my boys scrapbooks of their lives up until they were young men. It is something that I have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of!

Good Afternoon My Lovely friend,
I so enjoy writing, however I do not keep a journal.
I think if I were able to hike more I'd like to keep a journal of my routes, mileage, what I saw etc...I sure do like yours though!

Jemma

What fun - I don't have many magazines around and rarely do I cut things out of them or tear out pages - no special reason - I just don't. I love love love your pages. I have kept journals in the past (I'm not too consistent about it) and recently I've been doing a daily "journal" of Zen Doodles. I like doing it - I've always been a doodler - and I can incorporate what is going on in my day into the doodles. So far I've lasted a month at it - maybe this time I can keep going. Right now I'm catching up on reading my favorite blogs. Next!!!
