The Golfing Community

We live on a golf course here in Florida.

golfcourseIMG_1019

And it’s a beautiful place to live.

twoIMG_1031

I don’t play golf.

threeIMG_1023

But I love living here and meeting so many interesting people.

ToneIMG_1032

It’s amazing the ‘friends’ that stop by on a sunny afternoon.

rIMG_1039

I’m sure they’ve finished their game of golf.

rIMG_1043

But where do you think they are headed?

rIMG_1060

To the pool? The fitness center or pro shop? Maybe the restaurant that is nearby.

rIMG_1064

I’m not sure where they were going.

rIMG_1068

But I’m glad they stopped to rest in the trees behind our house.

rIMG_1080

Because I got to stand outside with my neighbors and enjoy the ‘wild side’ of living on a golf course.

rIMG_1082

And yes, I know these aren’t the best critters to have in your neighborhood…

rIMG_1083

but you have to admit they are pretty cute!

And just look at the tricks they can play!

“Look at me, I can hold on to the sides and swing free!”

rtrickIMG_1049

Hey, there’s not room for everyone up here!

rtrickIMG_1052

But since you’re here..

rtrickIMG_1054

pose for the camera!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE.

Love your pictures! Racoons are pests but they are so cute. My favorite photo is of the one in the tree with its legs apart and his brother/sister is peeking out from under them.

Thanks for sharing. I've only recently started following your blog, it's nice to see pictures from other parts of Florida (I'm in South Lake County).

Diane, I loved each photo. Raccoons are so cute. It's those little hands of theirs that get them into trouble. Lifting lids from trash cans, picking locks.LOL You do live in a wonderful place. Blessings for a fun weekend, xoxo, Susie

Those pictures are just too cute! I love raccoons even though they can be pests. Here in the city we don't get to see raccoons much. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

They are cute but destructive. My daddy was a 'coon hunter" and he spent many a Friday night out with his dogs looking for this critters. I guess he did not think he should look on a Golf Course.:)

One of those moochers visits our feeding station every night. Sissy does not like it.

Diane,
Loved this post! We had a huge hollow tree in the front yard and the cutest, fattest raccoon moved in. Every morning, (very early) I would watch him climb up the tree and back his way into the hole. His behind was quite large and once I actually thought he was lodged in the hole. (like winnie the pooh) I called animal control but then he finally pushed himself into the hole. He stayed all summer and then just disappeared. then the city came and took the tree down because it was a hazard. Never saw him again....Miss that little guy....your raccoons are so cute and they are very photogenic!

Ohhhh, OHHH! HOW CUTE! They are in our neighborhood too, along with rabbits and TURKEYS! Diane, how lovely to see your beautiful view. Nature is certainly one of the best summer experiences I've been having since I've been off from school. Nature is soothing and fun, sometimes unpredictable in humorous ways!

Thank you so much for coming to visit my post. Are you on Instagram?

JG said...

Oh my! If you have a pond nearby, they may be going to visit it & then eat all of the fish. A friend had that experience lately in her yard. They are pesty little creatures.

Hi FL/NC Girl...... We too live on a Golf Course here in Fairfield Glade, TN... We never see the Raccoons during the daytime --but they visit our deck most every night trying to find any left-over birdseed on the deck. I have a 'Bird Kitchen' at the end of the deck --and feed our little backyard birds... I also put everything UP in a big container at nights since not only raccoons, but other critters would visit and either 'steal' the feeders (Raccoons can do that) --or eat everything... We are told to put things like this away at nights because there are LOTS of wildlife around during the night hours---even bears......

I don't dislike raccoons --but definitely don't care for SKUNKS (which are also around at nights)...

Hugs,
Betsy
