Florida Lawn Ornaments

This Great White Egret is a regular visitor in our neighborhood.

eIMG_2104

Some of his poses look just like the ornaments that so many love here in Florida.

But of course the ‘real thing’ is animated!

And before I go on, I have to apologize for the ‘out of focus’ quality of my photos.

eIMG_2090

I was standing barefoot on my front driveway!

eIMG_2092

I was excited! lol

And I was trying to go fast!

Because this egret was here for a tasty snack.

eIMG_2095

And grabbed a small snake right out of the landscaping (across the street) !

Unbelievable!

And then off he went in his own graceful way…

so beautiful!

Well, until he found a lizard for dessert!

Good morning, awesome sequence of egret images. The snake must have been a surprise and a great meal for the egret.
I hope the weather has calmed down there and all is well.

Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Diane, I thought this post was interesting. I did not know that they ate snakes and lizards. I think the egret is a pretty bird, so sleek. Blessing to you barefoot girl, :):) xoxo, Susie

Now that was a sighting! He certainly would make a beautiful model for a lawn ornament.

Super wonderful - I know how it is when something is happening with a bird - you just can't get them in focus in time to get every shot of the sequence - you did a terrific job my friend. Happy weekend.

Oh my gosh, how funny. You take the most interesting pictures. What a sight that must have been to see the Egret go after that snake! And to see it in motion is fascinating. That first picture is sooooo pretty.

Happy Septemer days, Diane.

The photos are good. It's not easy to photograph moving animals or people, lol. I love how you are so near some of the beautiful wildlife. Can you believe that I have never actually seen an egret? 'Don't think we have them here in Alabama...

Love the Egrets. [You have yard art in your area ...of egrets? Hey, wish we had some of those...around here all I see are flamingos]

Oh and if you really want me to be honest, I'm GLAD those snaky images are blurry!!! lol

I'm a bit late in getting over to visit with you this weekend...hope all is going well, and thanks for adding your blog to the linking tool at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

That's a wonderful bird to have ona garden list. The ornament would certainly make someone stop and stare too. I wonder if you have strangers taking photos of the ornaments until they realise their mistake?
