Hurricane Hermine hits Florida

We are alright…no damage here at our house. (power still on!)

(standing at the front door watching the clouds come in on Thursday afternoon)

We woke up at around 1 am this morning with the sound of pounding rain and high winds but looking out this morning, everything looks fine. Just a few leaves and small limbs down but no damage to our house or trees in our neighborhood…thankfully.

Yesterday we had bands of rain and stormy weather come through and may have the same condidtions today. But we are safe and appreciate your care and concern.

We live due East of Cedar Key and saw scenes of that small coastal town on the Weather channel a lot yesterday. Watched the surf coming over the sidewalk we’ve walked on many times and the little beach overtaken by the surf.

Old photos I’ve taken at Cedar Key on calmer days!

I hope and pray this storm doesn’t do more damage as it makes it way up the East Coast.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

I think I’ll COOK today! I have a roast to do in the crock pot and I may bake something good.

What are your plans?

Diane, Happy to read you are safe. I have not heard from my granddaughter in Tampa since yesterday. She lives in an apartment building...so she has many friends near by. I will call her , if she doesn't text soon. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Diane, So happy to hear it wasn't worse that it was. You just never know. It was pouring rain as fas a Atlanta this morning. Hope it looses some of it's punch as it goes NE, I know several people in it's path. Take care and be safe...............

So glad to see you are OK! Hurricanes can do so much damage. It's cloudy here but not rain yet. It has gone through South GA and heading up the coast now I think. I'm cooking a pork roast to make lots of BBQ to share with friends and family.
hugs!!

I'm thankful everything is ok.....these are strange days.....but God controls all things but I do believe America is under God's judgement for her many sins in turning away from him.

Its a clean crisp day here the second baby day of September. I like it ....and am hoping to do a little cross-stitching, I've got some pretty wonderful charts that aren't too involved. Maybe I can do it.....=)

So glad to hear everything is OK with you. That storm looks nasty and it's headed my way. Not losing power is a good thing.

So glad you are safe and sound! I went to Walmart today and got gas for the mower and some mums. It's beautiful here at 76! Yay...but then I lost steam and I am so tired I tried to take a nap but Miss Peeps would have none of that! I guess I am taking today off as I have no energy whatsoever! Your dinner sounds delicious! So glad you didn't lose power either.

Florida seems to be having increasingly more storms, don't you find? So many warnings in January at Cape Coral where we rent that I had to check to make sure the house was OK this year before we went down.
Glad you and your hubby are safe lavender sis. I bought egg plants at the farmers market and made eggplant parmesan for dinner - tomorrow I'll bake something sweet. :-)

Stopping by to check in on you. So glad to hear that you are safe. I think Hermine is making her presence known here with cloudy skies, some rain, wind and, best of all, plummeting temperatures. We only made it to the low 70s today. LOVE that!
Have a wonderful weekend.

so glad to hear y'all are okay and no bad damage. It went through here. We had some good wind gusting. I dont think we got as much rain as forecasted. Alot of lights going off and on today...flickering and I heard some transformers blow up....big loud boom! no trees down...all our lawn chairs and plants and umbrellas are all fine. Mr. Front Porch said most the traffic lights are still off on his way home just a bit ago.

Glad to hear you are safe and sound Diane! That house on stilts looks a bit risky for hurricane weather, don't you think? Enjoy your day of cooking ;)

Diane, I am so glad that you have faired well through the storm. The news mentioned that there are a lot of power outages. A roast sounds perfect for a stormy night's dinner!

So glad things are ok there. We had a surprise mostly sunny day- enjoyed some time on the deck - getting it arranged after the paint has dried - my little solar fountain arrived and it is so cute - works great - can't wait for the hummingbirds to discover it next year. I finally got the last coat of paint on the china cabinet - we then grilled dinner and that was our day - peaceful, chore-ful - and fun. Happy weekend my dear friend. Enjoy!!!

Glad you are ok! We could sure use some of that rain up here in central New York State. It's been a very dry and hot Summer.
