“Flamingos” Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder!

I took one of the best photos I think I’ve ever taken.

flamingoOriPorIMG_7566

This is IT!

I thought about doing a post with just ONE photo!

But then what would I do with all the rest?

IMG_7393

Waste them?

fIMG_7400

And then I had another thought.

fIMG_7389

There are a lot of beautiful birds.

Mrs. Buzzard asked Mr. Buzzard if he thought she was the most beautiful bird.

buzztextIMG_7412

And look what he said!

flamingostorkIMG_7379

And what about this stork?

IMG_7398

He’s beautiful too!

Well, maybe just one more Flamingo photo of my best photo cropped! lol

All taken at Homasassa Wildlife Park.

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’ and

Oh, Diane! That is an absolutely gorgeous snap of the flamingo! Aren't they the most beautiful creatures? You sure do live in a picturesque place! Have a great weekend.
Be a sweetie,

You are not kidding! Gorgeous! The colors are simply beautiful. I am trying to use nature colors as inspiration to plan my fiber projects so I may just have to make a "flamingo" project based on your picture! I see a yarn order in my future! LOL!

That IS the perfect photo of the flamingos. Great capture.

They really are stunning birds according to this beholder. Why do they get such a bad rap? Beautiful shot, Diane...

Beautiful!! When I was a kid, seeing the flamingos at the zoo was my favorite part.

Have you seen the bedroom that Tammy at Patina and Paint has done? You need to check it out. ;) http://www.patinaandpaint.com/2017/02/17/pink-flamingo-room/

Flamingos (flamingoes?) have always been one of my favorites and these photos are spectacular. Bravo!

Maggie Ann said...

Diane.....your post is delightful. I like that the flamingoes can twist their heads around and retreat into their feathers. I'll bet that would come in handy some days for any of us. Haha. And your prize winning photo is fabulous. National Geo will be after that one!

Michele M./ Finch Rest said...

Oh my goodness, look at those pics! YOu know I have never seen one in real life? I'd say they are the most beautiful - along with the male peacocks with ruffles feathers all aplumb - which I have seen.

Your "award winning pick" is outstanding! : - )

Share this with the linky party Pink Saturdays over at Beverly's HOW SWEET THE SOUND blog - the pink lovers will adore this - tho they do look a bit more salmon colored, eh? (haha just kidding, please share there.) I am heading there right after this myself.

Hugs. ♥

You could sell that photo . . . if nothing else I think you should get a nice frame with a large white mat and put it on your wall somewhere. Have you ever entered a photo contest . . . or the county fair . . . think about it :)

Hi Diane. Simply beautiful. They are in tip-top condition.

I do enjoy seeing your American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis) in blogland as opposed to seeing our now very numerous European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis.) Of course while sharing a common name the two species are not very closely related other than being members of the finch family of birds.

Beautiful photo! Actually all of them are beautiful! Isn't it funny that the buzzards think they're so pretty?! It makes you kinda love them a little bit. Those flamingos are such a gorgeous colour, and I love all their twisty necks. Well done with the camera Diane, you should stamp "First Place" on the first photo!
Where are you hiking shoes taking you next?!

Crazy looking birds! Saw one Greater Flamingo at great distance in India. Look good in the binoculars but way too far away for pictures.

Stunning flamingo photo -- contest worthy. It is just gorgeous. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I'm sure you're right that the vultures and storks probably think they are most beautiful of all ... but to our eyes --- that flamingo shot wins hands down. Wow, you are so darn good.

Oh, Diane! I am so glad Michele pointed you in the direction of Pink Saturday. When I saw your photo of the flamingoes, my heart went pitter-pat. I have loved flamingoes ever since I was a little girl. I grew up and spent most of my life in south Florida.

Again, welcome to Pink Saturday. I hope you will join us often. This post is being featured on my Pink Saturday post this week as "the one that caught my eye". ♥

Diane! When I saw your feature at Beverly's I flew right over ...with the flamingos. :) I've missed visiting with you. Been such a whirlwind with two college graduations and our daughter's wedding in 2015, both our children moving away (one to Colorado), and now this empty nest thing everyone warned me about but I didn't want to believe (sure could use a traveling apron). :) I vent with creativity and love to design new sites. Hope you'll visit sometime. Looking forward to staying in touch.
