Put your hiking shoes on…Let’s go on a Wildlife Walk!

Winter weather is fabulous here in Florida! We’ve seen highs in the 70s every day lately…even into the 80s. Our winters are normally mild but this year it’s perfection!

So it’s time to visit the Florida State Parks.

Let’s go to Homasassa Springs Wildlife Park today!

Who wants to walk with me?

IMG_7561

Or would you rather watch a nature program? heehee!

IMG_7565

Does anyone just want to snuggle up and take a nap?

bobcatsIMG_7583

Or play with a baby fox?

IMG_7374

He pushed this ball around and entertained us

while Mama slept!

How about chasing a River Otter?

IMG_7588

You’d have to be FAST!!!

All of these animals and birds are found here in the wild here in Florida…well, except for Lu!!!

Stay tuned because we may walk again tomorrow!

Do you visit the State Parks where you live?

We get annual passes and go as often as we can.

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays

and Good Fences today!

Do you need season passes? Some states give their senior residents free passes. I am a tween...between being a senior at some places and not being at others. I know that you make the most of these beautiful days...always a pleasure to be included on your walks.

What a lovely way to stay healthy and to enjoy Gods amazing creation. We use to get Parks Pass, but we have not in a few years.

Diane, I would love to take a walk with you. Our weather was gorgeous yesterday, but today the winds are howling and the temperatures are in the 30's. Big change from yesterday!
I'm surprised to see a hippo at the state park! The photos of the fox and otter are very cute. We love visiting our state parks and our national parks in our state. Have a nice afternoon. ♥

Who doesn't love a walk in the park? lol As much as I like the hiking, I've also enjoyed sitting and watching the presentations, always something new to learn!

So many things to see in your park! I enjoy visiting parks - much better than spending weekend shopping!

Was the bird following you? lol This is my kind of walk. My parents have a place like this near their Florida home. I always enjoy it. Thanks for linking up today and have a great weekend!

Looks like a fun place, Diane! Love the signs and boardwalk and all the cute little critters. I can only dream of temps in the 70's right now. Love the heron in the seating area! Yes, we do go to state parks in the summer. Sending hugs xo Karen

Hi Diane! Well, I would certainly love to come but I'd need one of those motorized carriers as I can't walk too far yet! ;) How gorgeous it is where you are and I love seeing the little baby fox! Aren't they the cutest little animals. Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

You have shared some great photos! I love the otter and the close up of his face! We were in the 70's yesterday but woke to 32 this morn! The wind made it hard to be outside this afternoon.
Wishing you a pleasant evening.

That was fun! So many wonderful animals to see. I have a friend who lives in Homosassa. You are all so lucky to have such nice weathers. Although I enjoy having all 4 seasons, just not so much of one (winter) like we've had this year.

Love these pictures! yes, we love the state and county parks as well and GO OFTEN!! They are such a bargain and so much to see and enjoy! I do love your all's Florida parks too, they are amazing and the scenery is just a photographers paradise, as you know! Wow--great shot of the otter......those little critters are HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH---they are so fast! LOL Please take us to many more of your parks this year---I for one, do love them!

PS---isn't that mommy fox just beautiful??? her fur is such a pretty color!

How fun! I love the pictures. The fox are beautiful.

We went to a wildlife place near Asheville---you've probably been there. We saw bears and wolves and coyotes up close and it was incredible. Better to see them there than in my backyard!!! :-D

What a beautiful park! I don't visit them here as they are all very far away...at least 2 hours which would mean 4 hours of driving by myself....I'd be too tired and stiff by then to enjoy the park! LOL! Driving here with all the curves and hills is much more tiring than it was to drive in the midwest! And you definitely cannot use "cruise"! LOL!

Now this was a fun post! Aren't foxes just so, so cute!

What a beautiful walk that you and your hubby had! I loved all the animals and birds. I love otters. I think that are so cute! Of course, if he ate all my fish, I may think differently. Ha!

These photos are fabulous. I'd love to cuddle up with that pretty fox though I suspect the cuddles aren't so great! A gorgeous walk and thanks for taking us on the field trip!

Thanks for taking me on this walk. Great photos of the animals! I love visiting parks and photographing the animals and plants/flowers. Not much of that going on here right now... we just got a foot of fresh snow overnight, and another big storm moving in on Sunday.

I used to love visiting Homosassa Springs. I haven't been there in years. We have some really great state parks here, too. Sadly, they are all closed this time of year...too much snow and ice. Hope you have a great weekend, Diane. xo Diana

I did enjoy the walk with you. My favorite picture is the sleeping fox.
It does sound like perfect weather but I do enjoy the winter and the snow too.
We have lots of walking parks close but not like the this one. It's just walking in the woods.
We feel like Happy Trails is our own personal park. : )
