Himstedt Dolls for “Wednesday Wee Ones”

I worked played in my doll room last week and made a big mess!

But one thing I decided to do was dress my Himstedt dolls in their original outfits.

I used to like to change their clothes for the seasons or holidays.

Silvi

But not so much any more!

Ginni

And I love the outfits they came in.

In fact, dressing these dolls reminded me of how much I love them.

They were made in Germany by Annette Himstedt and she doesn’t make them any more. It’s probably just as well. They were getting so expensive that they were out of my price range. I ‘collected’ these when I was still working and had a little extra money for dolls.

One thing I added that was not original was this cute little leather bag that I got at the thrift store.

I put all the certificates, brochures and magazines together in the process of organizing and remembered that my sweet hubby was featured in the Himstedt magazine, Undine.

Isn’t he sweet?

I’m thankful for the dolls I have, and a sweet hubby who spoils me!

Oh the dolls are so beautiful. Years ago I'd visit my favorite doll store, Colorado Doll Fair in Ft. Collins. She had every doll imaginable. At the time I was into Barbie special releases. I discovered Lee Middleton through a friend and bought two of her dolls. I was raising my children and not working full time, so I was limited and just couldn't see spending money. The store closed. I think there has been one of these dolls on Craigslist offered nearby. I am so glad that you posted the photos. They are gorgeous. Such fun we have, Diane.

I had a teacher friend who collected Barbies. She had a whole room devoted to them. It was fun to see. I have never heard of the dolls you were talking about. My daughter loved American Girl when she was in elementary school.

Diane,
As a doll lover myself, I loved this post! I haven't played with dolls in a very long time but I do keep one out that is dressed in a nightie and matching bonnet that my mom made for one of my daughters. Your dolls are beautiful and what an amazing collection you have! Including your husband--he's a doll too! LOL! ;)

Hope all is well my friend and that you are having a nice week. xo

I absolutely love the insert about Ron. That sounds so much like something Mr. C. would do!! How blessed we both are! Your dolls are so darling. I love the one with the pouty face and blue sweater. Ginni? And so fun that you dress them and have fun with them. I have one, yes only a single child, and I finally got her a new outfit to cover up the 'scar' where a couple visiting little girls had a tug of war with her and tore off her arm. :-(( I did surgery, but needed a new outfit that would cover the scar. She's looking pretty good now. Loved this post, Diane! xo

Those are beautiful dolls, Diane. I have seen them. My friend is a doll collector but, like you said, they are very pricey now. They are a large doll and I love their faces. Blessings to you- I love how much you enjoy dressing and 'playing with' your dolls. Too bad you didn't have one more kiddo cuz I am pretty sure it would have been a girl....lol...or...maybe not....lol xo Diana
