Let's have a picnic in Anthony!

We stopped in Anthony to have a picnic lunch last Sunday. We could have dropped in on John Travolta and Kelly Preston but we had forgotten to call first! hahaha! They live in Anthony and it's a beautiful area.

The school had a nice big shade tree so we ate in the car with the windows rolled down and a nice 'warm' breeze blowing.

After lunch I walked over to the school to take a photo and was surprised to see one of the Little Free Libraries! I know some of my blog buddies have talked about them and it was fun to finally see one.

I wish I had taken some children's books to donate. I'll try to remember to take some the next time we drive that direction.

This little lizard was hitching a ride on this wild stallion! lol

It's beautiful horse country and we saw lots of horses.

Always something to see when you get out on the back roads of Florida!

Do you have a Little Free Library near you?

And would you have dropped in on John Travolta for lunch?

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays.

I have seen a couple of free libraries but we don't have one near me that I know of. Those horses are beautiful.

It sounds like a nice town. And that's a real nice roadside library--a bit fancier than many. I see them around some of our neighborhoods.

No I would not have dropped in on the Travoltas!

Hello, I have not seen one of the free libraries yet. I will keep looking. The town and school look nice, I love the field with the horses. The lizard is cute too. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

I had no idea....I'm not sure I even know who Kelly Preston is but I am familiar with John Travolta and he has his own airliner. You are so observant and notice things, I think, that other people probably pass right by. You amaze me with all your interesting posts! Lovely photos too as I am a horse lover for sure!

I established a little free library in our town at Parmelee Farm - love the concept, and I'm thinking of also setting one up at our cottage. People love them and really do use them and donate too.

John Travolta - you know, I used to love him.. but as he got older he got a little.. odd. He's been through a lot of loss in his life time, I suppose that could be why. I understand his property has an airfield and he parks his jets right there next to the house!

Beautiful horses - I think the best parts of Florida are the back country roads and the beaches.

What a fun post. Love love love horse photos. We have horses here - but not in such pretty pastures. We have dozens of Little Free Libraries - I photograph them whenever I see them, they are all so different, and darling. I'm keeping a file of the photos of the Little Libraries - with plans for a post one of these days. I think I might have stopped to see John Travolta and Kelly Preston - and maybe gone for a ride up in one of his planes - he seems to like to fly folks around - that would be fun. Happy weekend my dear.

I wished you would have given John a heads up and dropped in to see him. The next time you see him, ask him why Anthony and not Ocala? Ocala is a beautiful place to live. :)

Why you should have called. John would not think of you having you eat in the car! Actually we have done that too when we can't find a park. I have seen several of these little libraries. A new thing along the same concept is a free pantry. You are welcome to take food if you are in need....and you may leave what you would like to donate.

Hi,
Yes, we have a Little Free Library, in fact, Wisconsin is the home of the first one. :-)
I like that hitchhiker on the stallion.

Not sure John and Kelly would let me in, lol, but I'd try! Love the horses. I've seen a couple of the little free libraries and I love them. Hugs!!

Diane, Please hug John for me. LOL I think eating lunch in a car with the windows down under the shade of a lovely tree is like having a picnic. I have seen those libraries , but none near me. Oh what beautiful horses. I love to see horses. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

There are all sorts of little libraries around here and if I ever have a book I can live without, it goes to one of them. I don't think I would have dropped in on John and Kelly without calling first, lol. The lizard on the stallion is a great shot.

Yes, a friend of mine has a free library in her yard. They are so cute and such a good idea. Of course John T lives near enough to Clearwater...headquarters for the Scientologists. Not sure I would enjoy a visit but it would be fun to say we saw them up close and personal! You took some great photos!

We have several in our town -- such a great idea. I had to smile when picturing you two sitting there, eating your lunch in the car on a pleasant day -- sounds like Mayberry to me! Delightful!

We call them Lilliput Libraries down here and I believe we have one in our little town and several in the city nearby. A great idea.

Hello Diane,

I have been on a blog break but have thought of you and your husband during that time. I do hope that he is doing well.

We live in a very small town...a little village, really. Our library is only open one day a week as a general rule, but they have one of the little free libraries. I love the idea and know many people who have enjoyed using it.

No...I would have passed on having lunch with John Travolta. haha

Our church has a little free library, and it is a miniature version of the nave. I had no idea that the Travoltas live in Florida, and I definitely think they'd love to host you for lunch! ;P

I have participated in the little free libraries. I keep a few books in my car nowadays as I have had to pass them up in the past as I didn't have a book to donate. One of my very favorite books came from one and I treasure it. I actually see them fairly often, it seems that once they are on your radar they jump out at you!

Love those little free libraries --- I have seen a few and taken some pictures which I don't think I've ever blogged. Definite no on the drop in for lunch with those two. Even if they didn't have security up the kazoo which I'm sure they do, not my cup of tea those two.
