Pond Pics, Believe it or NOT!

We stopped at the library pond one afternoon and we both had our cameras.

What do you think?

Was this Moorhen walking on water?

Look closely at the water splashes behind him!

Hubby got one with his camera too. (from his perspective!)

Egrets and Little Blue Herons all together on the bank.

And overhead, an Osprey!

It had something in it's talons.

Maybe something to feed her young!

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

Don't you love it when they look to be skipping along the water? I do. My duck family of eight is down to six. I suspect a couple of them met the talons of some raptor...

Diane, You certainly get lots of bird activity around your ponds. I love seeing those egrets. Great photos. Blessings for a pretty day there. xoxo, Susie

Hello, love the walking on water shot. The herons and egrets are pretty. Awesome captures of the Osprey in flight. Looks like another great spot to watch the birds. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

I love to see Ospreys!
I read (Google, of course!) that heavy birds, like Coots and Moorhens, have to run across the water, vigorously flapping their wings to get airborne.
Have a great week-end!

That must be a very virtuous Moorhen.

Go out in the evenings. What are you reading now, anything good? I just finished Mary Alice Monroe's newest, it was great!

Very interesting photos...had not realized that birds required take-offs... 🛫

Your photos are amazing as usual. I also enjoyed reading about Anthony, Fl and the little library was so cute. We are thinking of building one here in our little townhouse community.

In order for you to have caught his water splashes, the Moorhen had to be going lick-a-dee split! That was a great shot!

Oh wonderful Florida bird life! That marsh hen is certainly close to walking on water!

You always get wonderful bird pictures. There's not a lot of birds here in the city. Not like these, anyway. I especially love the walking on water picture. So fun!

Hello Diane!:) Great shots of the Moorhen picking up speed, to get air born, the herons standing with the egrets, and the beautiful Osprey, with what looks like a smaller bird in it's claws perhaps to feed it's young. Lots going on, and you captured it beautifully.
Have a good week.:)

not sure if it is a Moorhen. Looks like an Eurasian coot to me. They move like that.

Oh Yes, it looks like the Moorhen is treading on water. Lovely pictures of the Egrets. They are beautiful birds for sure. You see a lot of them in Florida. : )
