Summertime in the South

Sometimes you just HAVE to find a place to pull over....

 walk across an old footbridge...

to stand in front of someone's house.....

to take photos of their flowers!

You just HAVE to!

Summertime in Florida...you KNOW I LOVE it!

I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE.

I've always thought that summertime in Florida would be miserable with the heat and the humidity, but you make it sound and look beautiful :) You're a top spokesperson for the Sunshine State . . . they are lucky to have you :) Enjoy your pretty summer.

So, I have a question for you that doesn't have to do with this post in particular. Have you always been a southerner, were you raised in the south? And if not, how did you find the transition to the heat, in particular the summer, in Florida? I have visited florida many times over the years and love especially the coasts/beaches and the little towns that have the Old Florida feel. We sometimes talk about retiring part of the year down there but when i visit, even in April? .. it feels like the heat and humidity would have us living indoors more than out. I'm wondering if you get used to it as you live there... would love to read a post on Florida living - the pros and cons.

Diane, Seeing your wild flowers reminds of a field around here...I keep forgetting to take a picture of it. I like to think the bees are there and loving it. Pretty skies in your photos. :):) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

Beautiful field of yellow flowers.... I took a walk this morning and saw some yellow wildflowers blooming here... I'm not a 'summer-lover' at all --but the wildflowers of summer are SO pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Hugs,
Betsy

Summertime in the south is very different than living here. Nel lives in Georgia right now, and she tells me all the wonderful things about the summers in the south. She sees fireflies at night, even in her back yard. Do you get them in Florida, Diane? This picture of the yellow flowers and the old home is charming. The one thing that I've heard about the summers in the south, however, is the humidity. We don't get that here.....only hot summers. It's 106 this week, Yikes!

love, ~Sheri

It's easy to see what drew you to this place, your short detour was well worth it. As you know we are also "enjoying" Florida's summer at present and although we are having a wonderful vacation I can't stand the heat and humidity for more than three or four hours before I have to head indoors and enjoy some wonderful air conditioning!
Happy Mosaic Monday, neighbour!

Hi there! Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Sorry I have been so MIA! But I (hope) I am back for good - and will post when I can. I just posted yesterday about my granddaughter's first birthday - such fun.

I love your beautiful pics of Florida - you live in such a beautiful state. And I adored your flea market finds - what a treat, eh?

Hugs!

I'm so glad you were compelled to take that lovely break, Diane. Do you know the name of the wildflowers? Just beautiful. ♥

I do the same thing. quietly step onto someone's yard to get a better (closer) picture of their yard. Very pretty summer flowers!

Diane - thanks for being brave! Too often I drive by something and think "I wonder ...." but then I don't stop. That is changing .... now!

Beautiful green! We do that stop on the street and take some pictures thing too...so far, nobody has chased us away or charged us admission. Once, the homeowner came up and chatted, he seemed pleased that we loved his flowers enough to take pictures?

Beautiful photos! I just love summer too :-) Have a lovely evening!
