Beautiful Elegant Osprey

I stopped at the library pond one day this week and saw this beautiful Osprey.

He flew from the pond to the pine trees across the street.

We see Ospreys often here in Florida.

But it's still wonderful to stand out in the blazing hot sun to photograph one! heehee!

It's HOT here and we have not had the rains that Southern FL has had. We could use a little....not a lot...just a little!

Just a couple more...

after all...I did stand out in the hot sun for these!

 How's your weekend weather?

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

We're into the 80's now albeit high 80's and it's still humid but it rained yesterday which I was glad for as I didn't have to water. Love the Osprey...prettier in flight than standing. When he stands his feet look like mine...big! LOL! Love the water lilies too. My sugar maple is changing color already so I think there will be an early Fall.....I hope!

Hello, love your beautiful Osprey photos. They are always great birds to watch. The waterliles or lotus are lovely, beautiful photo. We have cloudy skies today, maybe some rain later. I wish I could send you some rain.

Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

We are leaving for a week at the beach ! Gulf Shores, Alabama!
Still hot in Texas so I'm looking forward to a bit cooler temps!
Happy Saturday to you, my friend!

We have osprey here on Lake Martin, and they are fun to watch. We've had tons of rain here in Central and East Alabama (at the lake) lately, like local flooding has been an issue.

I hope it cools down a bit for y'all! Enjoy your weekend!

Diane, He's a beauty. In a few pictures I can see his sharp talons...yikes. I hope you can get a nice gentle rain to help out. I hate when it's those heavy rains in one spot. I wish mother nature would spread those out. Blessings for a nice weekend there in sunny Florida. :):) xoxo, Susie

Amazing photos Sis! We are in a rain path for days and it is wearing me down. I find I need sunshine to feel better. I'll read today, that always 'takes me away'!
hugs!

He is gorgeous! The photo of him at the top of the tree is amazing! It has been plenty hot here too but we have had a lot of rain this summer too. We really needed it considering we had none last summer. Stay cool my friend!

Wow! I am amazed at his legs, they don't look like birds legs, they're so strong looking. I wouldn't want to be below his food chain.

So gorgeous! I'm missing Florida, but certainly not the heat. After 5 summers down there, I am really enjoying the coolness. I marvel at it at times.

It looks like he's standing so tall and regal. I don't see these birds here, his chest looks unusual. It's pretty hot here this weekend, and I have the air conditioner on during the day, but not at night. : )

Have a lovely Sunday, Diane.

Diane - fabulous shots. I wouldn't want to be a fish in those talons! Wow!

We are in for a cooling trend here in Montana for the next week or so, but we could really use some rain to clear the forest fire smoke from the skies ...

I love watching the osprey too!! You got some great pictures. I am always amazed at the huge nests they make! Hope y'all are having a real nice weekend. It's so hot and rainy here. Just feels like the tropical jungle rain forest. Our walks feel like we are slowly pushing through hot soup and it just drains me. Looking forward to some good crisp fall walking weather, maybe in december maybe?? ha ha LOL

Oh my....once again, you've outdone yourself Diane!! Amazing shots of one of my favorites. Love the ones with the long pine needles as 'framework'. Well done, and I thank you for sharing this with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' as always.

I'm in my Hootin' Anni's blog admin, but you know I'm still Anni at I'd Rather B Birdin' of course. lol

What a magnificent bird, there are a lot of them here in BC.

We've had a very dry summer in BC over 50 days without rain, very unusual for here.

Do you ever visit Key Largo? One of my all time favorite movies from way back.😂🌞

Have a super week Diane.

Beautiful bird. I was driving the other day and a huge bird flew up in front of my car. I was so happy that I didn't hit it. I think it was a falcon of some sort. Have a great week!

Hello Diane!:) What amazing captures of the Osprey. Well done for standing in the blazing sun to get these images. It's very hot here in Portugal. We have had a long hot summer, and could do with some rain. I like your last shot of the waterliles.:)

We had a really hot week (for Oregon) -- but now it has gone back to normal summer -- 50 at night, 75 to 80 days.... we do come here in the summer to cool down after all!

Love your portraits of the handsome osprey. We used to see them here in Oregon too, but don't any more. I need to find out what happened to them.

Hope the weather may cool down a little for you soon.

All the best Jan

I noticed that you haven't posted for a while. I hope you haven't passed out in the heat. It has been hot all week here in Ohio. The fair begins today. Take care.

I love the ospreys and we have them around here as well. I've been lucky to have watched them diving into the water for their fish many times. This guy looks like he's hot too with his tongue hanging out. Thanks for standing in the hot sun for these Diane ... it really was worth it (for me ha ha!).
