I'm so smart....

...and humble too! hahaha! The more I create, the more creative I become!

I'm still making altered books and I'm going in all kinds of directions now.

I made this cute little Beatrix Potter book for my girlfriend, Margaret.

I hope she doesn't mind if I show it to all of you. She loves it! I included the whole book so she read the story and enjoyed it, too. Now she can write in her book and glue little mementos inside. It was fun to make and a very cute size. (the book rings were not in the book for the photos)

I made another book into a journal this week and experimented with sewing antique lace on the edges of some of my pretty paper (using the sewing machine). It worked like a dream.

This book had a plain cover and I glued the image on the front and then put some antique lace and an old clip-on earring on the book ring. I didn't embellish the pages in this one but stay tuned....I'm making MORE books and they are all different!

And speaking of being humble. I am having a 'humbling experience' and would appreciate your prayers. I have kidney stones...oh my...they are painful! I had SUCH a good week and feel like writing in ALL CAPS...I don't have TIME for THIS! You know what I mean!

I better go cut some paper and glue something...

it's ADDICTIVE!!!

I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE.

Kidney stones - that doesn't sound fun at all!! I hope you get relief soon.

Your books are so cute and creative. I've been told that creativity breeds more creativity. I'm sure it's right!

Your books are adorable, such lovely work. I know all about kidney stones, just got diagnosed with one too large to pass so had surgery to blast it into small pieces, then a stent fitted to drain things. Most painful, but now it is all cleared away and the pain I had beforehand has gone away. Hope they can find a solution for yours.

Oh my! I am so sorry to hear about your kidney stones. My other friend who lives around Orlando had them before the hurricane and was supposed to have surgery after the hurricane. I am calling her today to see how she is. She took medicine for a long time and it didn't help so ended up with surgery. I hope that if you are taking meds, that it takes care of them. I will pray for you.

Also, I love, love, love your creative books. I understand the joy that it gives you to allow your creative side to be released. I used to have fun with finding magazines about the things my friends liked. If it were golf, I cut out faces of my friends and glued them in the golf magazine. If it were for a bride, I used a bride's magazine and put her face on the faces in the magazine. It was fun and funny for the person receiving it.

I love your books with the lace and fancy pictures. I know that your friends will love them and cherish them and because you made them.

Praying for you that you will have relief from pain. Take care!

Oh Bless your heart and by now I pray that your Kidney Stones have been eliminated. I have only had them once and was forced to pass them...what can I say. I was thankful they were small enough not to require a hospital stay and I am holding on to that for you as well. The little books that you are creating are so sweet, just darling. Hugs my friend. Take care and God bless~

I'm so sorry :( So glad to read in your last post that your home was safe in the hurricane. The devastation is so terrible in places. Sending hugs xo Karen

Oh no....kidney stones? I've hear they are very painful! What causes them and how can you 'cure' them? I hope you get rid of them fast! We have way too much to do to be ill or under the weather. I love your art journals and the Benjamin Bunny/ Beatrix Potter one is so cute. Where do you get your images? What great ideas you have....using a clip on earring and lace on paper....genius!!! You go girlfriend! I pray you will be on the mend soon! Hugs ~ Sam

Those are beautiful and you are smart (and it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way ;>).... I've heard kidney stones are very painful -- What is the plan for getting well soon?

Diane - WOW! You are so creative - no need to be humble as far as I am concerned! My favorite part - putting the clip-on earring on the book ring - such a good use for something that is just sitting around. So sorry to hear about your kidney stones ... may they pass quickly!
