The 'White Elephant'!

I had such fun at the White Elephant Sale and bought a bunch of junk good stuff!

And only things I really needed! lol

I mean....have you ever seen a lighthouse cookie cutter? And everyone knows I lived in Texas long enough to consider myself a Texan...so how about the cowboy hat and boot? I bought the hammer for my hubby! haha!

I don't listen to country music all the time but I love a little Johnny Cash, George Strait and Alan Jackson when I'm in the mood! ( may be a Texas thang?)

This necklace was only $1 and I didn't even realize until I got home...it's a locket!

A White Elephant Sale is a type of garage sale or community sale of 'used items'. Ours is held inside and close enough that I can walk to it. Lots of fun to mix and mingle with friends and neighbors and find some bargains too. I spent less than $20 on all my 'loot' and even got some Fiskar stamps, paper and pencils for my altered book projects.

We had beautiful skies over the weekend. How was your weather?

Did you have a fun weekend too?

I’m joining Mosaic Monday HERE .

Those are always fun sales, Diane. I actually have a lighthouse cookie cutter! lol We used to live on Lake MI and looked right down the shore to the lighthouse--so I made those cookies whenever I made cutouts. Now on the bay- we have a 5 mile "look see" across the water to see the lighthouse.

Hope you have a wonderful week- xo Diana

Like your cookie cutters. I collect old ones with wooden handles. The most unusual one I have is an AX.
The sky pictures are wonderful.

That white elephant sale was a treasure trove of finds for you. When I was a child our church used to have "white elephant" sales.

Diane - I always love reading your posts for the humor! Wonderful! I love the cookie cutters and the locket - very unique. We are having a few "Indian summer" days for Montana - highs in the 50s and blue skies. Weather will turn Wednesday - rain and snow - so we are enjoying it while we can! Have your kidney stones resolved themselves? Have a great week!

I love cookie cutters, Diane, and have a large tin filled with them. I loved baking shaped sugar cookies cookies with my children when they were young and now I have to begin doing the same with my grandchildren.

Do you believe we had our first snow today? It came early this year but it is supposed to go back to warmer weather by the end of the week

White elephant sales can be fun, but you might need to hand onto your purse for fear of buying too much! Have a fabulous week and thank you for stopping by my blog this week.

When I was a child our church would hold an annual Bring & Buy sale and there would always be a White Elephant table full of unloved items looking for a new home. Seems like you helped out quite a bit last weekend! The necklace/locket is so pretty.
Beautiful sky captures love the inclusion of the shot of the small plane.
Hope your week is going splendidly.

That sale would be so much fun! I love your butterfly locket. I attended an estate sale of a precious neighbor over the weekend and purchased 6 little butterfly pins myself! We had rain all weekend. I love your pretty sky pictures. Have a great day, Diane.

Wonderful skies....blue is beautiful! I've noticed since I started blogging that I am much more aware of the sky and cloud formations.
Happy Tuesday!

Lovely mosaic of your purchases and of clouds. A cookie or vegetable shaped in cowboy hat, boot, or hammer would please not only children but also adults. In my part of the world, season is progressing very slowly. Today it was unusually hot with the highest 30 degrees C (86F), the record hottest October.

What fun! I like that locket. Isn't it fun to come across things you didn't realize existed but are CHEAP and FUN! :-)) Hope you have a lovely day. We woke to 31 degrees and sunny today. The frost is still thick on the ground, and when it melts I'll go out and uncover my sweet Dragon Wing begonias. I'm hoping to keep them a bit longer. They're my favorites!

Thanks for explaining the White Elephant sale. It sounds like a lot of fun! I did not know that you were from Texas. I guess I have not been following you that long. Good to know.

I didn't realize you lived in Texas before. I thought you were a native of Florida. hmmmmm, learned something today. There's a few songs that Johnny Cash sings that I like, and glad you found one of his CD's. That necklace is unique. These are pretty sky pictures. No clouds here, just getting cooler with the leaves falling every day. : )

Well I would have loved to be with you....I enjoy going with two of my sisters to estate sales....there is always something that I can't live without.

I had an amazing weekend. Both of my daughters were here....one lives way over in NC.....and of course they brought my little granddaughters who are 3 and 5. The house is way too quiet today though since they all left last night 😟

Hi Diane, that sale sounds like fun. We have one every year at our church and I sometimes find some nice things.
The weather is so beautiful here and warm. I'm not complaining as in Nov. & Dec. it will be cold. I do love the warm weather. I hope all is well with you. Take care.

You are so much fun, I like your take on life! Your new items look like a whole lot of fun stuff. That necklace looks like it might have come from 'The Cracker Barrell' which often tempts me with their corner of reduced stuff. hugs, maggie ann also known as k.

The cookie cutters are great and I love the necklace, too. Nothing like some 'classic' music to put a smile on your face. Love those big, fluffy clouds. Hope your weekend is lovely. xx K
