Florida Favs!

Let’s hear it for the BIRDS!

flamingoOriPorIMG_7566[3]

Most people hope to see Flamingos when they come to Florida and it is thrilling to see them in the wild.

But also pretty neat to see them at Homosassa Wildlife Park. They feed them a special diet that enhances their beautiful colors.

My sweet cousin Cindy and I spent the day there last week and that was extra special. Come back SOON, Cindy!

My favorite bird, the Roseate Spoonbill was in a different location and it allowed us to get up close and personal with them.

And take lots of photos!

Look at his feathers!

It was ‘lunch time’ so we got to see what was on the menu!

I did a post with Manatee pics HERE if you missed it!

It was a beautiful day! A bit of rain now but nothing bad here.

What beautiful flamingos they are! Their gorgeous color and the elegant figures are so special. The Roseate Spoonbill's bill is fun and so cute.Do you see me smiling to them? I visited your post of the wild park with your cousin. That also looks fun!
I am pleased to see you again. I had been away from my PC for a while.
Have a wonderful new week!

What lovely mosaics of Flamingos and Roseate Spoonbills! Now I understand there is special diet behind the Flamingo’s beautiful colors, which made me remind the various colors of Japanese Koi carp depend on foods they are fed.

What gorgeous flamingos and spoonbills. Their colouring really is amazing. Florida is filled with wonderful sites and I'm happy to see them through your blog, as I don't know when we would ever return to your state. Someday, perhaps.
Visiting the park with your cousin would have been fun.

Have a great week!

Flamingos have always amazed me with their unique color. I've only seen them in a wildlife park, never in the wild. The Roseate Spoonbill is new to me. Fascinating!

All of the journeys to Florida and also living there for 2 years in the past, I have always wanted to see two things in the last several visits...a Manatee in the wild and a Rosette Spoonbill. I have seen neither in captivity, or the wild...yet. The image share are marvelous my dear friend~

Oh, the Flamingos are fascinating to look at. Such a beautiful bird, indeed. The Roseate Spoonbill is unusual looking, and I've never seen it before. She's so pretty with her rose colored feathers.

Happy Memorial Day, Diane.

Oh yeah, I loved those birds! The greatest park ...(the birds are sort of semi-wild, don’t you think?). The owl that you saw in my second-to-last post was at Homossasa too, by the way.

Is your cousin still there? i hope y'all got a nice long visit. It's sure getting hot here, how about there? Soon it will be too HOT TO EVEN GO OUTSIDE!! Summers are brutal here, just like there. But winters and Falls and springs are just so perfect to enjoy!
