LaLaLaLaLa….

Want to go hiking with me?

carIMG_0079

We’ll park at Halpata Tastanaki Preserve, the SR 200 trailhead and take a little walk. Oh, look…no one else is here!

Lalalalala….

that’s what my hubby says about the way I hike!

scrubjayIMG_0026

Oh look….a pretty bird! The Florida Scrubjay!

trailflowersIMG_0038

Do you see the sweet yellow flowers next to the trail!

trailIMG_0037

Oooohhh…look how pretty it makes the trail look!

TURN AROUND!

truckIMG_0039

YIKES….is that a MACK truck behind me?

tIMG_0040

Ah….the dangers of hiking in the preserve! hahahaha!

tIMG_0043

But they gave me friendly waves and just stirred up the dust.

No harm done! He was bringing equipment in to clear the fire break road. He opened a locked gate to drive in. It’s RARE to see a vehicle in the Preserve. (it’s CLOSED to traffic)

And what was the most exciting siting of the day?

deerIMG_0021

A deer crossed the trail in front of me.

He slowed down enough for 2 photos! How nice of him.

(no hikers were harmed in the making of this post!)

Lalalalala….

I’m joining Saturday’s critters HERE

and I’d Rather B Birdin’.

Hello, the truck is an unusual sighting on the trail. I guess it is necessary to keep the road clear. I like the Florida ScrubJay and the pretty deer. It is nice the deer posed for your photos. The yellow flowers are pretty. Thanks for linking and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your day and weekend! PS, thanks for the comment and visit.

Well I go through life rather Lalala.lol Yes, seeing a Mack truck bearing down on the trail would be rather unusual. Glad you got out of the way.:) My knee has been bothering me so my walking has slowed down some in order to rest it. I am sure orthopedic shoes are in my future.

That scrubjay photo is great. Don't you love it when you catch them with something in their mouth?

Some great shots today.

I've never caught a scrubjay. They are cool birds.

Hubby stopped hiking with me after a few times because he spent most of his time either behind waiting or in front waiting. it seems I stop a LOT, as in every few steps. it was better when I hiked with my friend and her camera. I love the shots of the big truck in the park... Diane and I once came up on a bulldozer in the park.. of course I posted pics of it.

Great photos! Love the deer!
Those big trucks are scary, but it is good that they keep the roads and trails well maintained.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Nothing like seeing the 'wild' life on the trail---like a 'wild' truck! Great pictures and that looks like a pretty good sized deer for a FL deer. They are usually pretty small.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana

Oh darn it....did I just click out without before sending my comment? lol Anyway- great walk-despite the truck on the trail. That looks like a good sized deer for a FL deer. They are usually pretty small. xo Diana

I like to walk fast but I also like to walk slow and see what's around me. It all depends on my mood. Thanks for taking me along on your hike

Looks like a great place to go for a walk in some lovely peace and quiet. A cool looking Jay.

Diane, That made me laugh about what you husband said...You do get to see some pretty sights. If you walked faster you would miss some of it or scare the deer and not get a photo. I love the Scrubjays. Oh I might have picked up the pace with a big truck coming. LOL Keep on lalalala-ing. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Wonderful photo of the scrubjay with a berry in his mouth! A Mack truck would be an unusual siting in the Preserve. Lalalala! And Happy Thanksgiving, Diane.

To see a deer on your hike is an amazing thing. They are special animals, and how nice that he slowed down so you could take a look at him. The last picture is very pretty and peaceful.
