*Treat Yourself*

We probably shouldn’t need to be told to be good to ourselves but sometimes we get so busy doing for others that we neglect ourselves. Don’t worry, I’m not that bad about this now that I’m ‘older’!

But I HAVE worked really hard decluttering my house this Fall. I’ve taken 4 loads of stuff to the thrift stores. I know someone will be able to use the things I no longer need or want.

So I treated myself!

I’ve always wanted the Autumn book by Susan Branch.

11Nov1

So I went online and found it at alibris and I’m thrilled with it!

Just like new and a great price! My blog friend Sam from Farm Girl Sam and I had been talking about it. We both love Susan Branch…oh and BOOKS!

Then I placed an order with Amazon and got this!

Do you know what it is?

DSCN5601

A colored pencil cloth roll up. I can get all my colored pencils organized!

And guess who mentioned this on their blog. My blog buddy at Cranberry Morning!

(can you believe I FINALLY got one, Judy!!!)

I also got Retro Clean to soak old linens thanks to my sweet cousin Cindy. This will really come in handy for linens and lace I already have.

So the next time you clean out and donate to a good cause,

TREAT YOURSELF!

I’m joining Thankful Thursdays.

I need to do a good bit of cleaning and sorting out as well. I take all mine to donation. The store here is always full and stuff changes out quickly so I am usually sure it will find a good home.

Hello,

I have been into de-cluttering. It is nice to donate items that can be of use to someone. Your new pencil older is cute. I have never seen the retro clean in the stores. Enjoy your day, have a great weekend ahead!

I too have really de-cluttered my house and that in itself feels like I've treated myself lol! I've not heard of the Retro Clean. Have you used it before? I use Oxy Clean but found out the hard way that a lot of vintage fabrics are not color safe!

Oh Diane, I'm so glad you bought that pencil holder! Isn't it even prettier and handier than expected! I bought three new colored pencils yesterday and now have to decide how to rearrange my holder. Three others must go. Last week I purchased a tin of Brunzeyl? watercolor pencils. They're wonderful. Soft leads. Anyway, lovely post. Have a beautiful day! xo

I always enjoy hearing about new products and that Retro Clean sounds like something I need for some of my old linens as well. And yes, it is okay to treat ourselves to something every now and then. Like you, I am trying to "PURGE" my house and I took some things to a local ministry this week. I felt very virtuous.:)

good for you! As long as it's more items out than items in, you are ahead of the game!

Diane, I adore Susan Branch and own all of her books. They are all cozy and well worth purchasing. She's writing another one that should be finished next year sometime called "Enchanted". That's great you have treated yourself to lovely things that you will enjoy. It's a good feeling to get rid of things we no longer need and gift them. ♥

wow all three of those things sound like nice things to spoil oneself with--
I am also sorting things again--for my move back to Fl for when ever i get a call that an apt has opened up for me--went through the fabric again today--my girl friend will be taking it to a couple craft shows in the next couple weeks to see if we can sell some of it--can't ship so many boxes this next time!! and guess what it is doing here??? Snowing steady here--and it is adding up--and that means the air is sooo damp--that is what I cant stand the dampness!!!
enjoy, di

You got yourself some nice treats. I really need to start cleaning out all the clutter. I've made small steps to getting it done but it gets so overwhelming sometimes.

I was just about to say that Cranberry Morning blogged about that pencil roll-up!! Isn't it great how we help each other on this amazing platform? Good for you, cleaning out so well and YES to treating ourselves!!

Love the treats you gave yourself. When I finish these "taking way too long" report cards, I'm going to treat myself! Not quite sure how yet, but there might be chocolate involved. And a book.

Oh I like that pencil roll up cloth. I could sure use one.

I am surprised that you didn't buy the Wonky Donkey. I laughed so hard when a grandmother read this to her grandchild. It made its rounds on FaceBook. I like your idea of clearing out then getting something for yourself. You made a good decision.

I admire your ability to declutter and get rid of things you don't need! I also need to do this, but often feel too busy during my off days. Thanks for linking up!!

Oh I love treats - recently I bought a special plug that works with Amazon Alexa - it lets you turn a lamp off and on with voice control - you can't imagine just how much fun that is when it is needed. Not as exciting as your new book - or that fabulous colored pencil roll - I really need one of those, it would be so handy - Hmmmm, no I want another treat. Love your post - and all your fun treats. Have a grand week end coming up - we are putting up the outdoor christmas decorations because this might be our last sunny weekend for a while - and it is no fun to put up the decorations in the rain. Happy treats my dear.

Love your neat new pencil roll up! Oh yes! I have the Autumn book and I LOVE IT! I found two copies a couple years ago, I kept one and gave one to my Mom! Can't wait to get the new book when it comes out. What do y'all have planned this weekend?
