Here they come...Two by Two!

My most favorite find this week was this pair of Kittens!

They are by Avon. They don’t even seem like my ‘style’....

but they make me smile!

Isn’t it funny that you will find something one week at a thrift

store and then find another one the next time you go in?

I found these sock darners at two different stores!

And I think these are butter stamps.

Am I right about that?

And I actually use the egg rings so I was happy to find

two of them...on two different days!

How about a pair of doll shoes for a nickle!

I’m sure they’ll fit someone in this house!

‘Wednesday Wee Ones’ Welcomes ‘guest’ dollies!

I love my dolls and I have LOTS of sweet dolls!

And I even have several dollie buddies!

Mona posted pics of her beautiful new baby carriage on her blog,

 Wsprsweetly of cottages

and I just had to ‘borrow’ some of her photos to show you all!

She has some beautiful dolls and we both have a few reborns

(dolls that have been handmade by doll artists!)

Go to Mona’s blog HERE to see more of her beautiful dolls!

She finds such gorgeous clothing for them, too!

All of the dolls ABOVE are Mona’s dolls!

Here’s my lovely Adara Lina in a hand made cradle

that I bought from a lady that makes baskets

and wearing a dress my sister crocheted!

Dolls are so much fun to collect and enjoy

and dollie buddies always make time to PLAY!!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and remember to...

Take time to PLAY!

*Jenny Wren* Mosaic Monday

We always enjoy getting back to Florida to see the birds in our feeders!DSCN7103

This year we came back to find a pretty little blue morning glory growing under the bird feeders.

This little black capped chickadee said,

‘Excuse ME...I’m trying to EAT here!’ heehee!

I found this sweet book at the thrift store

and fell in love with the beautiful illustrations!

Jenny Wren’s New House written by Kay Patton, pictures by Irma Wilde, published in 1954.

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday!

We’ll begin to see some unusual ‘visitors’ when birds migrate

soon! Do you still have lots of birds in your feeders?

Antique Shops, Thrift Stores...Goodwill?

Where do you shop? All of the above?

My girlfriend, Sherry from Back 2 Vintage asked me if we had gone to Mt. Dora and shopped in the Antique stores there and I had to stop and think! We’ve gone there a few times but I don’t think we went into any Antique stores! The closest we came was an old book store!

Cropped Mt Dora

*photo from Google images (I couldn’t find my pics on this computer!)

Thrift store shopping is a fairly new addiction for me! And there are really only a few that I like to shop at! (Goodwill is not on that list! lol)

The last time we went to Mt. Dora, Florida I did buy this precious little doll in a doll shop that sold mostly new dolls with a few ‘antique’ dolls in the back! She looks like one I had when I was a little girl!

And I found the family of cats marked made in Japan for $1 in a thrift store here in Ocala.

When Sherry sent me a sweet gift awhile back I told her I made use of all the pretty pink packaging...

I used some in this planter...

and the rest in this cup! (thanks Sherry!!!)

Do you enjoy antique stores? Do you find good buys there?

Should I give them a chance?

Do you know the ‘Glam Gals’?

Are you over 40? If you will LOVE their website,

And if you are a regular on their site, have your signed up for their newsletter?

You’ll get all kinds of updates, tips and reminders of giveaways they are sponsoring!

And speaking of giveaways...

I won a BIG one!

I entered their giveaway , “Julia Roberts’ style in the movie,

“Larry Crowne” and I WON!!!

Here’s what I won....

and do you see something hiding underneath the neat stuff?

YES!!! It’s a $100 VISA gift card!

(I got a T shirt, movie soundtrack and stationary set, too!)

So what did I buy?

Zumba stuff!

I REALLY needed new shoes for Zumba! When you dance, you pivot and your shoes need to slide not stick to the floor. So regular athletic shoes don’t work well at all!

So I spent MOST of it on SHOES! I bought the Reebok Zigs for $75 at Foot Locker and they are GREAT!

(thanks for recommending them Kathy!)

I had enough to buy these black knit capris at Penney’s

and a bright PINK t shirt...

and maybe went a little over getting this!

It’s a belly dancer hip scarf...

FUN to wear when you’re dancing!

SO...a BIG special THANKS to the Glam Gals,

Deborah and JoJami for this wonderful gift!

And thanks for the great advice you give all of us

over 40..over 50...over...well, I could go on

but I need to get ready for Zumba class!

It’s a LOT more fun with a new outfit, too!

Visit them HERE and sign up for their newsletter!

They have a new giveaway going on RIGHT NOW!!!

Jekyll Island ‘Mosaic Monday’

How about a walk on the beach...

to see what we can see!

We enjoyed a little side trip to Jekyll Island

on our way to our home in Florida!

It’s not a beach for seashells...

there aren’t very many!

But there are sand dollars...lots of them!

Many of them are alive so we just take photos and leave them where they are!

There were several horseshoe crabs this time!

They were big and scary! lol

My hubby’s toes go into this photo and it shows

how BIG the horseshoe crabs were! (thanks honey!)

I’m joining Mary at the dear little red house

for Mosaic Monday!

It’s great to be back in Florida!

It’s sunny and warm and I LOVE IT!

And if my friends think that I’ve flipped and written TWO Mosaic Mondays tonight...they would be partly right! I wasn’t sure if I would be back online this soon so I scheduled the one about fruit! I just forgot to tell myself that I did! heeheehee! So I’m twice as much fun tonight AND tomorrow!

I think I’ll go lie down now.....

What’s the weather like at your house?

Does Fruit taste better….

in a pretty bowl?

A trip to the local health food store for organic fruit was a success this week!

We enjoyed tiny sweet grapes, cantaloupe, figs and blueberries.

It was all so delicious! And since I don’t eat sugar any more, I enjoy the sweetness of fresh fruit! I really believe it tastes better now!

The bowl is a piece of pottery we bought in Sea Grove, NC.

Take time to DECORATE...of course!

I love getting back to Florida and ‘playing house’!

When we leave for a few months at a time, I like to put things away, or cover things up! It keeps the dust off things and if things are put away, I can start fresh and change things up a bit!

I took the time to put things back on my dresser today

and I’m sure I’ll be ‘tweaking’ things in the next few days.

I told my girlfriend, Ricki Jill that she inspired me to try a different runner on my dresser.

It’s a brown wickery runner...from Pier 1 Imports.

I would still like to make something else but this looks nice for Fall!

My beautiful jewelry, hand made by my girlfriend, Della

from Del’s Shells is out and ready to wear!

Here’s something I made awhile back that I wanted to share!

I can’t wait to get back to crafting!

I’m a member of the Shabby Chic Girls Club and

I am excited to link up with the Oh la la Party!
