My boots are about 25 years old and yes, I wore them a LOT before I moved to Florida.

Living in Horse Country here in Florida I see a lot of boots but maybe not many are this bright red color! haha!

Shopping with my friends!

It was SO much more fun shopping at Kohl’s yesterday with my blog buddy and her daughter!

I met Della from Del’s Shells and Laci for a morning of fun shopping!

It was the first time I had met them so we shared lots of HUGS and giggles…and then got down to the business of shopping!

The store was filled with new Spring fashions and Della found some beautiful clothes.

The prettiest new color is coral so I came home with a new coral top, a white peasant top and some Bermuda shorts that I desperately needed!

I had so much fun….got some pretty new Spring clothes AND the best part….Della has agreed to let me adopt Laci! She is the sweetest young lady and I fell in love with them both!

Are you a bargain shopper? I sure am! I’ve always loved shopping the clearance racks and getting a good deal! But it seems even more important now that prices have gone up so much on groceries and necessities!

I love to shop but I don’t really ‘need’ anything! I just get in the mood for something new! I just like to LOOK! heehee!

I know....I went over $10 but can you beat this?

I spent $11.71 for a blouse, a wallet and 2 pairs of earrings!

I had a $10 off coupon and since I’m over 50, I got a senior discount, too!

I love the little Relic wallet and I can always use more earrings! lol

 

And do you think this brand new top from Christopher and Banks is a good deal for less than $10! I sure did....and snatched it up off the rack! PERFECT!

Oh really? The buttons won’t come out of the button loops! I’ve managed to get ONE out so far! So I’m going to have to figure out another way to button this top! I might sew new loops on.....I’ll let you know!

I WAS SO EXCITED!

So what did I buy?

Zumba stuff!

I REALLY needed new shoes for Zumba! When you dance, you pivot and your shoes need to slide not stick to the floor. So regular athletic shoes don’t work well at all!

So I spent MOST of it on SHOES! I bought the Reebok Zigs for $75 at Foot Locker and they are GREAT!

I had enough to buy these black knit capris at Penney’s

and a bright PINK t shirt...

and maybe went a little over getting this!

It’s a belly dancer hip scarf...

FUN to wear when you’re dancing!

Are you over 40? I’m probably older than most of my favorite bloggers but I DO feel fabulous! ( and I have sons that are in their 40s….I know it’s hard for me to believe, too! lol )

One of my FAVORITE blogs is Fabulous After 40 ! I am addicted to their blog and read it every morning before I start my day! I was beginning to think I shouldn’t think so much about style ‘at my age’ until I found their blog! But feeling good and looking good is important in a healthy lifestyle! One of my favorite topics was What does dressing age appropriate mean?

I wrote and asked them about how to wear this white jacket and they responded in an email! And when you comment on their blog, they respond to your comment! It’s great having these ladies’ advice! They are in the business, after all….and share their insight to many of the challenges we face as we get a ‘little older’!

So here’s the jacket…..

and here’s what I wore it with the day we visited the Biltmore Estate.

I would say….I could come up with better shoes except that at the Biltmore walking shoes are a must! So TEVAs were my choice!

And what were their suggestions for wearing the jacket in Florida?

Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner... I was just in Florida for a week!

Your jacket is great for down there... Might be too much with white jeans..but if you added a lightweight colorful scarf, you could pull it off!

I would wear it with jeans... colorful ones!!  You could try it over a sundress...but I'm thinking that round collar will not look right.

Florida is so casual.. a light sweater might be a better choice!

I need some help...pronto! lol

We are spending more time in Florida and I am trying to adapt my wardrobe and come up with some different outfits.

This is one of my favorite knit tops (detail below)

and you’ve seen me wear it before. (here with my sweet mother in law!)

But how would it look with a black skirt? I just bought this skirt at Dillard’s and it is really comfortable enough to wear for every day.

Now the REAL question...what do I wear on my white legs?! I don’t have a tan yet so I’m not sure I should go ‘bare legs’!

If I were in a cooler locale, I could wear tights but what do you think I should wear here? If I wear hose....what color? Black or beige? I will be wearing black flats not sandals.

I know with all the horrible news and tragedy in the world right now, this is not really important but it’s something I would ask my girlfriends.... so here I am!
