Mosaic Monday highlights

Has everyone had a wonderful holiday season? It is the most beautiful time of year here in Florida so we are still spending more time outside. So I thought I would highlight a few of my favorite mosaics for this year....2019!

Mosaics are such a fun way to share lots of photos! And I TAKE lots of photos and hope you enjoy them all!
I'll find the rest of them for next week...I hope!

What a great year it's been!

And now on to a....."Happy New Year"!

Interesting Hike from Start to Finish!

We drove over to the Pruitt Trailhead to hike the Halpata Tastanaki Preserve trail and saw a Hawk perched on the gate post as we turned in! That was exciting!

The photos I took were later.

This is the one I took when we pulled into the gate.

Can you see the feathers on the far right of the pic? You'll just have to take my word that it's a Red-Shouldered Hawk! lol

Lots of beautiful birds but this Kestrel was one of my favs!

You just have to take a chance when they fly, but I liked this photo!

We have a long list of sightings for the day and some we didn't get photos of. We saw big flocks of White Ibis and Glossy Ibis in the ponds and flooded fields. They are amazing to see but there's no place to pull over to get good photos.

BUT....when we got home and drove into our neighborhood we were greeted by this little group!

One mature White Ibis....

and some juveniles.

I think they are considering our neighborhood to retire when they get older.

At least they were checking out the house for sale on the corner! heehee!

I hope your weekend is filled with Joy!

A "Wild" Cat?

Don't worry! I didn't see a wild animal in the woods!

But we did see an animal we've never seen before!

A cat! A cute little cat that let my husband pet it!

We've taken some nice hikes deep in the woods this week.

But this little cat came out of the woods at Blue Run Park.

And then it was gone. It decided to head for the sunshine!

We saw one of the wildest alligators we've ever seen at Blue Run Park but I'll save those photos for later. Some of my blog buddies would rather I save them for....EVER! heehee!

So I'll share this one!

Happy Holidays from Florida!

PS A blog friend mentioned having trouble with comments NOT going through. And guess what! I went back to look and some of mine have not gone through. I'm using Chrome now and my comment went right through this morning. So I'm sorry if you are not seeing my comments. I can't go back and figure out which ones didn't but I'll try to use Chrome now and see if that solves the problem. It's always something....isn't it? Holiday hugs, Diane

Thankful for the little things!

I know this won't seem like much to most people but for me it's a VERY big deal!

I found something that I can eat that tastes really good! Most of you know that I can't eat sugar. I am allergic to sugar so I don't have a choice. And because I am health conscious too, I avoid artificial sweeteners.

So when I ran across these Bake Believe chocolate morsels I did some research online before I headed over to the big 'W' store to buy a bag. Sugar free does NOT mean calorie free so I can't go crazy with this product. But it does give me a chance to eat a few chocolate chip morsels on top of a spoonful of peanut butter or with a half of a banana. I mixed a few in with some nuts to make what we always called Gorp.

And you have to remember....I have not had a chocolate chip morsel in over 20 years. So it seemed like a pretty big deal to me. And so far, so good!

The website is HERE and there are some interesting recipes I would love to try. I am remembering how good a granola bar or a cookie could taste. Maybe I'll go wild and buy some almond flour and make a small cake! Recipes HERE!

Life got a little bit sweeter around here. I wonder how many miles I'll need to hike to eat these chocolate chips right out of the bag! I may have to walk WHILE I eat! hahahaha!

Don't forget to tune into the Hallmark channel on Christmas day for a beautiful fireside view and Christmas music playing all day.

Any special treats you are enjoying this holiday season?

*My Holiday Home*

I didn't really plan to have a home tour of any kind this year.

I've simplified my decorating to take advantage of the nice weather to GET OUTSIDE more!

But one day I invited my friend over to see the dolls and jewelry trees so I decided it was the perfect time to take a few photos. Remember....I invited a friend over. And since I know you are ALL friends, I'm sure you won't point out that a flannel shirt is laying over the back of a chair or mention the things you see that are 'out of place'.

Thanks for stopping by!
(I'll save some dollies for another day.)
