Who do you shop with?

Would you like to go shopping with me?

I usually go by myself but I’m fortunate to have a hubby that likes to shop, too and today he asked me if I wanted to go to the mall! I just need to hear the word GO….I love to GO anywhere! lol

First stop…the linen shop!

Hubby found these pillows that he knew I would like!

Remember I am Southern….through and through! If you could only hear my accent you wouldn’t have a doubt!

Hubby bought new hand towels for his bathroom. (the secret of a happy marriage…his and her bathrooms! heehee)

He helped me pick out a fun new handbag.

It’s even cuter on the back!

And I got some Lemon Zest bath products….we both like this fresh scent.

We haven’t been to the mall in awhile and it was fun to see all of the new shoe styles for Spring!

I thought of my girlfriend, Diane HERE when I saw these and knew she would love them!

What do you like to shop for at the mall?

Clothes? Shoes? Handbags? Linens? Bath Products? Jewelry? (what did I miss?)

It’s so funny living here in Florida! You think Florida...it’s in the South, right?

A Southern accent should be the norm?

Well, think again!

There are so many people that move here from all over the world that I have a hard time being understood! Of course when I talk to my girlfriend, Sherry from Back 2 Vintage we don’t have any problem understanding each other. Of course she’s from Mississippi and remember...I’m from Arkansas! But when I go into some of the stores around here, I have to repeat what I say. I thought I was going to have to SPELL this one out!

I asked an employee that was working in the shoe department in Be*ll’s  where the houseshoes were. Then I said slippers. He didn’t understand either word until I said them both again. He directed me to another part of the store. When I got there, I asked the lady in that department if those were the only houseshoes or slippers they had and she said....”What?” So I said it AGAIN!

By then I had said houseshoes 4 times

....and slippers 4 times.

But all of my hard work paid off!

I went wild and got two pairs. I felt like I deserved them. I had to work so hard to be understood. (and I had a really good coupon! heehee)

So I just have to ask....

Happy Mother’s Day weekend!

I’ve always loved this quote, which is actually a Jewish Proverb, “God could not be everywhere, so He created Mothers.”

I am very blessed with lots of kids and grandkids.

I am also blessed with a wonderful husband who surprised me with an early Mother’s day outing.

He took me to Blue Sky for lunch...which included Sweet Potato fries...oh my! And then drove over to Diamond Brand to buy me some new hiking shoes.

I have hiking boots but I don’t always wear them for a ‘day hike’ so the sales person at Diamond Brand helped me find these lighter weight hiking shoes. They will be perfect for the type of hiking we do now. (good tread on the bottom)

So I am excited to get new shoes for Mother’s day! Just what I wanted!

Do you read books because you’ve seen them mentioned on a favorite blog? I am reading a book that I cannot put down….Roads to Quoz by William Least Heat-Moon!

I heard about the book on the blog, At Home with the Farmer's Wife and checked it out at my library. And I was shocked to find that his travels start in Arkansas, very near where I grew up! So I am really enjoying it! I hope my friend, Lila from Indigo Pears sees this post! I know she will LOVE this book!
