The Queen Butterfly

The beholders eye sees the beauty.

A little twist to the usual quote.

But I'm going to start with beauty that we all agree on and end with what I think was the most beautiful sighting I had this week. This is not a butterfly we see often so it seemed fitting to see it this week in honor of Queen Elizabeth 11.

Queen Butterfly

We've had a lot of pop up showers lately and the wildflowers are blooming like crazy!

Long-Tailed Skipper

This Skipper was missing a bit of one of his tails but I loved the way the sunshine came onto him.

I don't remember ever seeing the Morning Glory on this trail but it was blooming when I hiked this week.

And I walked 'off trail' to get this wonderful photo of a Mockingbird!

I thought it was a Cuckoo and walked through the tall wet grass to get a really good photo. Thank you very much! lol

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

And now onto what I thought was my most beautiful sighting this week.

The Yellow Orb Spider

I don't usually like spiders but this one is amazing!

A rainbow over the Gulf of Mexico this week.

And please keep leaving comments even when it gives an error message. It seems like they are all coming through so I don't understand why the message comes up.

Thank you SO much for your sweet comments! They really do make my day. And I won't even fuss if you tell me my amazing spider is not beautiful! hahaha!

Happy Labor Day - Butterflies and Bees

Thanks to all the hard workers that do so much to contribute to the strength and prosperity of our country.

These are some of the butterflies and bees I've seen this week, on the trails and in my neighborhood.

This is Sumac and the clusters of flowers are fragrant and attracting the honey bees!

What a joy to have so many wildflowers blooming now!

And pretty flowers in the flower beds!

Mosaics to share...

Bees...

and butterflies.

You can even see the rain falling from the sky before the rainbow came out!

Have a wonderful happy day!

Rainbows and Butterflies

We are in our summertime pattern here in Florida. It's hot and humid and we have little pop up showers come in the afternoons. They don't last long but they water the grass and plants so they are very welcome. I just wish they cooled things off too but that's a little 'too' much to ask!

I love looking out and seeing the rain falling in the distance.

Maybe it's on the way here!

Which way is it moving? heehee

And then there are the rainbows we frequently see.

This one was SO vibrant! A double rainbow!

Colorful....and spectacular!

I inserted the little butterfly in the photo at the beginning. I actually saw this Gulf Fritillary on one of my hikes.

Have you seen something beautiful this week? Look UP!!!

Somewhere over the rainbow....

...bluebirds fly!

We had the most beautiful rainbow a few days ago.

I stood in the street in front of my house and took photo after photo.

 The colors were so bright!

And then I walked to the backyard and saw a double rainbow!

The colors were inverted. Do you see that? Spectacular!

Looking out to the West the sun was behind the clouds!

Breathtaking!

I hope you have nice weather for the holiday week ahead. Do you have special plans? Our plans are to try to stay cool!
It's Florida....it's HOT!
