Let’s find a warm spot!

We went to the North Carolina Arboretum today.

Yes....that’s ME in a coat! I don’t think I’ve worn a coat ALL winter but I had one on today.

It was in the 50s with a strong wind...a cold wind! (and yes, I hear you laughing at me Shannon!)

So let’s go inside the greenhouse.

The flowers were gorgeous in there

and it was warm!

We ate leftovers tonight! I don’t want Vee to think I ate everything on my plate at Papa’s and Beer! heehee!

There are so many dogwoods blooming but no redbuds yet. Laura showed beautiful photos of some today on her post HERE !

More Condo Fun!

One thing nice about having another home is coming back to some of your favorite things after being gone for awhile. Everything seems new and interesting.

Also I am still working on my new Net Book and learning how to use it. Today I tried PicMonkey to edit a few photos. Brenda at the Cozy Little House mentioned in on her blog HERE so I decided to play around with these pics.

The bunnies are changed using Yester-Color....

and the mountains have a shadow and frame around them. (I took this photo a few minutes ago!)

We ate at Papa’s and Beer today...

that was on our ‘to do’ list!

OH MY! It was WONDERFUL!

Hubby had chicken fajitas and I just had a salad! heehee! A warm fajita salad with chicken and avocado...oh and a cheese enchilada on the side! lol And don’t even look at all the salsa, bean dip and is that a beer for lunch? OH MY!

The temps feel cool to me but I’m enjoying every minute of our time here! I love sitting in my recliner and looking at the Blue Ridge Mts, especially at sunset!

…means visiting all of your favorite places!

We drove over to 12 Bones to pick up the BEST BBQ EVER! Slow smoked baby back ribs, beef brisket and smoked chickens…enough to freeze some to take back to Florida!

Next stop…Bruegger’s Bagels! We’ll get a bag full of bagels there. Yes…enough to take some back to FL! heehee!

I still have some thrift stores to browse and a few shops to check out while we’re here and I want to go to the park to walk. It’s more like ‘sweatshirt’ weather here but it’s nice. We saw frost on the car yesterday when we got up. What a shock! heehee!

But the flowers are lovely, everywhere you look!

A Slightly different View!

What a difference a few miles makes….

or 12 hours and hundreds of miles!

This is my view this morning here in the mountains of Western North Carolina. (taken from the balcony)

We got here Wednesday night and visited with family on Thursday.

Some photos taken at my mother in law’s. (look at some of her pretties!)

We are going to enjoy a few days here, but I hope the sun comes out soon!

Everything looks very beautiful. We’re so happy to be here! As much as I LOVE Florida, I miss the mountains sometimes.

My first tablescape!

I love visiting my blog buddies and seeing their tables set with beautiful china and lovely linens….decorated for the season or a special holiday.

I’ve always wanted to take part.

But of course, I would need a table

and then I would need some dishes! lol

So I decided to use the library table to put some pretty things out for Spring. (you have to imagine that the wall behind the table is book shelves and that the boxes of books behind the screen are actually ON the shelves! It will happen some day and I will blog about it! heehee!)

Of course it all started with the dishes I found at the Thrift store for 50 cents each.

They are marked Homer Laughlin U.S.A. on the bottom. I LOVE buying things made in the good old U.S. of A.!

I even had a pretty Easter tablecloth that doesn’t really fit but looks pretty.

So I put it all out, kept adding each day and found out it really is nice to have a pretty table set in my home.

While I was getting it set up, I received a Giveaway win from the artist, R. C. Reese. She sent me this original art to grace my table. Isn’t it lovely and the perfect colors for my vignette!

The Month of March in Review ‘Mosaic’

I’ve had one of the most FUN months.

We’ve had such fabulous weather here in Florida and it’s been fun to get out and about to photograph the beauty around us.

It’s also been BUSY with the opening of my little shop! What a joy to send things out to friends all over the world!

One of the highlights of this month was meeting my friend Della, from Del’s Shells and her sweet daughter! We sure had FUN! I’m just a little concerned about the tree growing out of our heads! heehee!

“Baby Chicks hatch in Florida lanai”

!!!NEWSFLASH…..NEWSFLASH!!!

Early reports indicate that baby chicks were seen hatching in a North Central Florida home.

Some passers by mentioned seeing baby chicks flying all over a lanai in a sleepy retirement community.

At first it was thought that dozens of chicks had hatched…

but later reports confirmed that there were only a few that were hopping from one location to another.

Sadly, the homeowners….respected blog boppers R & D fear that one might have ‘flown the coop’.

If anyone has details of it’s whereabouts please blog about it.

All will be shipped out soon…we hope!
