The Tiny Quilt

I went to a quilt show last week

and fell in love with a tiny quilt!

And the lady that made it was kind enough

to allow me to take photos!

Best-1

If anyone recognizes the pattern of this little Sunbonnet Sue,

please let me know!

 I love the beautiful detail!

My sweet mil made us all quilts and we treasure them. She used scissors and cardboard templates she had for a long time. She also used old clothes and blankets for her fabric. Such hard work but just lovely. I love your little sunbonnet Sue quilt.

There is nothing like a beautiful quilt on a bed or on your favorite chair for a wrap. Each of these are beautiful!

I love quilts. I used to have an elderly lady that made so many. Lucky for me she made me three!
My favourite would have to the yo-yo quilt! I wish I had one all in pink. A childhood friend had one and I adored it!!

They are all beautiful. But what I love about quilts is the fact that they are a product of meticulous hands and hardwork. Beautiful quilts are definitely art that comes from the heart. :)

The quilts I have all have special meaning and I know who made them or where they came from. I love the stories that go with quilts. A new father at work today showed me the quilt his baby was going home in, that he used as a baby, that his grandmother made out of her dresses. It was so sweet.

The ones you have pictured here are beautiful.

I have a soft spot for each quilt in my house - each one is special for it's maker or for the memory it holds. I love the one you've shown with the red border.

I have a hand sewn quilt purchased from Prince Edward Island to remind us of our wonderful trip there. I wouldn't know the pattern but it's a pretty pink and black colour.

Lovely quilts. Quilts provide so much more than physical warmth - they are a connection to the quilter and her/his sense of beauty.

I don't have a favorite. I love them all! I have made a few miniature quilts. They are harder, due to the minute detail. But I love the few I have.

They sure make a beautiful photo mosaic too :)

I absolutely love quits. I used to have a quilt with the little bonnet girls on it. That has been years ago though and I have no idea where it ever went. I'd love to have another!!!

I absolutely love quilts...but don't own a large blanket quilt ..yet. I have a few that are art quilts made by a friend, but not the old fashioned kind. One of these days!... of the ones you pictured, I love the start pattern with mostly blue hues best - beautiful!

I always marvel at the beautiful art of quilting. I have neither patience nor the skill to do it, but do so admire those who do! Lovely! Cathy

I do love quilts! Love to go to as many quilting shows as I hear about, though I myself have very little patience for it. I dabble though...just dabble.

I Love quilts. Unfortunately I do not sew (very limited), but I know all of the hard work that goes into such sweet quilts. I love the little quilt ~ such beautiful colours ;-)

Hi Diane, I love quilts too and have one in every room of my home. Those tiny quilts are adorable. Such talent to work with small pieces too.
The Sunbonnet Sue pattern brings back great memories for me as my mother made one for our son in the boy pattern when he was born. It is basically the same but the little boy is wearing coveralls. So cute. I still have it tucked away for grandchildren hopefully someday.
Thank you for sharing such beauty. The colors are amazing too.
Have a great week.
Hugs from Texas,
Celestina Marie

I do love quilts. I am not sure the different types though. I would love to have a vintage quilt as a bedspread. WIth pinks and whites and some greens.

So pretty! I love that blue one, the 4th photo. Quilts just take me back in time. As a child, I didn't understand the significance of watching my grandmother make them. How I wish I could revisit those moments.

The Sunbonnet Sue Quilt, of course. I have never seen that one, either. It is absolutely precious. Quilt shows are wonderful for those of us who quilt and those who don’t. The colors and designs are always so pretty and interesting. Love the hand quilting in the Sunbonnet one. That is an extra special treat.

What beautiful quilts. My sister is a quilter and I have so many lovely laptop ones. She also makes the smaller ones so that groups can put them together to create lovely large ones with a theme.

Reminds me of the quilts that my host mother used to make when I was in Australia for a student exchange programme. What I loved about my time in the small town of Temora was the way ladies used to come together int he afternoon and sew quilts together :)

I have a patchwork hanging and a Christmas sock that was personalised just for me and I also tried my hand at quilting with... pretty decent results i woudl think :) {i mad a small bag}

I do love quilts! My favorite pattern is the one with circles, but I forget the name at the moment. I met my best friend in a quilt class many years ago. Sunbonnet Sue was the pattern we used to learn applique. That is a sweet one you are showing. I hope you find the pattern.

I'm sorry for my DELAY in answering you about my camera. I was planning to do a post about photos and just now got it posted. Didn't know it would take this long to get it done. Check there for my camera and some other info.
