Decorating with the things you love!

I love seashells and books.

printersIMG_0416

I placed a few extra pretties on the printer’s tray and I’ll probably add to it as the month goes on.

Then I put stacks of Christmas books on the coffee table.

How nice to surround ourselves with the things we love! (I’m glad I have a really big coffee table!)

This is the new Jan Karon book, Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. Has everyone read the Mitford series?

IMG_0434

This is the latest book and I can’t wait to start reading and catch up with our favorite characters.

Hubby surprised me with A Year in the Life of Downton Abbey by Jessica Fellowes, too.

IMG_0435

It’s filled with beautiful photos and illustrations.

Are you as anxious as we are for the new shows to start next month?

Hello. Here I am at the top of the list. You have an awesome collection of seashells. Of course your are close to an endless supply. I am certainly the odd man out when it comes to Downton Abbey. It comes on too late Sunday night for me stay up when I worked. Now I am too far behind to catch up. I should ave been recording it. Lovely Christmas books that you have collected. Have a really good week. What will you be doing?

Love your seashell display. I'm still searching for an old sewing machine so I an use the bottom of it to make a table with my printers tray.

The Downton Abby book looks fab. That's going on my wish list. xo

Yes, I am waiting for the show to start. I too love books, but have only one seashell and it sits on the window sill in our bathroom, filled with treasures, including a piece of birch tree bark from Sweden.

I put all of my shells away, but I am thinking that I should have left some out as part of my Christmas decor.

How I wish I could sit on the couch by your coffee table and look over your shell collection and leaf through the books.
The printer's tray must be a real conversation piece when you have company over Diane.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

I really, really like the printer's tray with the seashells and Christmas touches. And the piles of books.
I "think" I might be getting the Jan Karon book for Christmas and I'm looking forward to reading it. I took that Downton Abbey book out from our library. What fun to read a little more about the show and the time period. I've already watched the new season on line, but I'll likely watch it again!

One day, all your blogging buddies are going to stop in for coffee. Your home looks so inviting! :-) You have an abundance of pretty shells. If my old blind dog's favorite place to lie was not in front of the sofa, I would want a large coffee table too! It's such a great place to display the books and shells.

My book by Jan Karon arrived last week. I really enjoyed the map illustration and that is as far as I have gone. Too busy just now. I need to gather a few of my Christmas books for display...the trunk would work well.
