I love seashells and books.
I placed a few extra pretties on the printer’s tray and I’ll probably add to it as the month goes on.
Then I put stacks of Christmas books on the coffee table.
How nice to surround ourselves with the things we love! (I’m glad I have a really big coffee table!)
This is the new Jan Karon book, Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. Has everyone read the Mitford series?
This is the latest book and I can’t wait to start reading and catch up with our favorite characters.
Hubby surprised me with A Year in the Life of Downton Abbey by Jessica Fellowes, too.
It’s filled with beautiful photos and illustrations.
Are you as anxious as we are for the new shows to start next month?

Love your seashell display. I'm still searching for an old sewing machine so I an use the bottom of it to make a table with my printers tray.

You have the absolute best time doing what you do and collecting what you collect and it always brings a warm smile to me~
Yes, I am waiting for the show to start. I too love books, but have only one seashell and it sits on the window sill in our bathroom, filled with treasures, including a piece of birch tree bark from Sweden.
Those are all fun decorating ideas, Diane. Love the books! I am anxious for Downton Abbey to start up again, too! xo Diana

How I wish I could sit on the couch by your coffee table and look over your shell collection and leaf through the books.
The printer's tray must be a real conversation piece when you have company over Diane.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
I really, really like the printer's tray with the seashells and Christmas touches. And the piles of books.
I "think" I might be getting the Jan Karon book for Christmas and I'm looking forward to reading it. I took that Downton Abbey book out from our library. What fun to read a little more about the show and the time period. I've already watched the new season on line, but I'll likely watch it again!
I like that we like so many of the same things.
Can't wait for Downton Abbey to start in January.

And I LOVE CHRISTMAS BOOKS!
Merry Christmas :0)
One day, all your blogging buddies are going to stop in for coffee. Your home looks so inviting! :-) You have an abundance of pretty shells. If my old blind dog's favorite place to lie was not in front of the sofa, I would want a large coffee table too! It's such a great place to display the books and shells.
Love how you decorate with your treasures... shells are gorgeous year round and bring on the books! ;) I'm looking forward to Downton Abbey. I started the Karon books. Wonder where I left off???!!!!
Beautiful display of the shells and I have a few Christmas books I love and cherish especially children's books.
My book by Jan Karon arrived last week. I really enjoyed the map illustration and that is as far as I have gone. Too busy just now. I need to gather a few of my Christmas books for display...the trunk would work well.
I love the little deer vignette. My library is called "Deer Run"
I have not read Karon yet but my Mom is hooked on that series. :)
I love the way you decorate - we seem to like a lot of the same things. Everything is so wonderful!!!
I love your shells and books Diane! I can't wait for Downton Abbey to start too as I LOVE it. I love the book you husband gave to you. Have a nice day.
Julie
Oh! I'll be getting that book for Christmas...for me, from me! And maybe the DA one too! I love books and I have read all the Mitford books. I have her cookbook too which is really good.
You're going to need another printer tray. I remember when you got it and now it is full up! LOL!
I too have Christmas books that I drag out and reread and enjoy over the holiday season. Love your dear deer!
I love your display of children's books
