Before there was.....
there was "knitting for monkeys"........ I got my knitting out today to make a dish cloth and pulled out my trusty "How To" book! I've had this since I was a teenager and it's what I have used to teach myself to knit AND crochet! heehee! When I haven't knitted in awhile, I still need a refresher! (And thanks Jeannie for the tutorial over the phone this afternoon!) I only know the basic stitches but my cloth came out nice! lol I got the pattern here......
"knit nutt" blog!
It really was easy!

Cute book! I haven't knitted in over 25 years! I only knew the basics back then. Your cloth turned out very nice Diane!

Knitting is definitely on my list of things I wish to learn. It seems so relaxing and unlike sewing, projects can travel with you. I admire you for teaching yourself, I have tried several how to books even my daughter's elementary version but couldn't get past the second page!
Have a nice weekend!
PS Thanks for your lovely comments, you are so sweet!
I have been trying to refresh my knitting over the past few days also.
Brenda:)
Perhaps people now would rather be called "dummies" than "monkeys"?
Thanks for the link to the knitting pattern!
I am sewing and knitting lots of little gifts this year. Love doing it!
Penny looks great in your apron!
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Knitting is very relaxing when you get an easy pattern like this one. I like the way it turned out and I'm already making another one!
I'm glad that I was able to help. Now if you keep up this knitting, maybe I can do a phone tutorial on sock knitting or lace knitting. ;-) Okay maybe that's pushing it, but I think it's great that you're knitting!
I still can't get over the cover of that book. hahahahaha!
Maybe you could just send me more socks and I will copy your designs! heeheeheeheee!!!! And I KNOW you want that knitting book, Jeannie! It's a classic!
