All you need to buy is a string of orange lights
from K Mart or Walmart.
I bought mine last year and I think they were $2.99.
Everything else you probably have on hand!
Last year I put them in a large glass bowl.
My sister uses a punch bowl.
You layer Fall silk leaves, pumpkins, gourds, wooden apples,
whatever you have and as you are putting
these into your bowl add the lights.
When it's dark the lights will shine through
and give a beautiful amber glow to the room.
This year I put my lights inside a
wicker pumpkin layering them with silk leaves.
It looks GREAT at night when you have soft lights
and candles on in the house!
Enjoy your Monday!
Happy Fall!!!
And THANKS to my sister, Delores
for all of the wonderful ideas and inspiration!

I would like to try this. Your Fall decorations are so pretty. I have yet to haul mine up from the barn...I have to be in the right mood as I make such a mess!
It makes my heart happy to know your favorite color is brick red as well!

We had lights in our college apartment with "clip-on" pieces. We clipped on peppers and pumpkins and it gave a party like atmosphere every college domicile should have!
What a super idea! I would never think of this. The lights don't get too hot? By the way! I hope you do make a carousel and share the photos on your blog. I love the inspiration of others work! Have a lovely week! E

You've inspired me to light up the porch for Halloween on the 1st of October. It's a fun night at our home with the little ones coming to Gnomeland. I do a combination of gnomes and scarecrows for them and I'll be trying your pumpkin light ideas...
Hi Diane! How clever! I love your Halloween's spirit! Unluckily Halloween is not so popular here.
Happy Tuesday!...trick or treat?!
Lovely display, so are so organized! Here in UK we only start doing all that towards the end of October.

Diane, this is a great idea and looks so warm and inviting. I did this in a fish bowl for Christmas with lights and ornaments. I will have to try it for Fall decor. Thank you for sharing.
