“Wednesday Wee Ones” How does your garden grow?

It’s beautiful here in the mountains of North Carolina! The temps have been perfect and everything has blossomed in one week.

I’ve had a chance to visit the library and some of my favorite thrift stores and I’ve added to my vintage ‘school books’ collection. I love this stack of books and feel nostalgic looking through the pages, reading the stories and viewing the beautiful illustrations.

Has anyone else made a crochet rose? Thanks to Jan at Rose Haven for sending me a few more patterns!

We ate at Blue Sky Cafe today and I had my favorite turkey sandwich…and their incredible Sweet Potato Fries…OH MY!  Have you ever had those? Hubby had a turkey wrap and black beans with rice. So yummy! It was so good I forgot to take photos! lol !

Enjoy your day! Have FUN and take time to PLAY! ; )

Isn't this weather wonderful? A few days ago I bought a lilac bush at BB Barnes and planted it. It has a few flowers on it and they smell wonderful!

Today, I am planting a Meyer Lemon Tree in a pot, so that we can bring it inside during the winter.
Hugs,
Penny

OH it truly is beautiful with all the trees there in North Carolina. Your forsythia looks gorgeous! Love all your sweet children's books! And those little mice.... sooo cute!!! I love all your pretty crocheted flowers! I have been trying to teach myself to crochet during spare moments here and there (not very many spare moments) I think I have finally mastered single crochet and am ready to move to the next step. I am the proud maker of one very find square patch... which will be a dish cloth I guess. LOL! What else does one do with this practice pieces? One of these days I will work my way up to flowers, but I might need to learn how to do a few more stitches first. :-)

I crochet but have yet to try a rose. I'm going to have to try making some.

When I took a look at your photo of vintage school books, the one that jumped out at me was "Down The River Road". I remember reading that in school! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :0)

Our forsythia bloom in February, so they have long since gone by. Yours look lovely!

I also have a large collection of children's books which I enjoy --especially if they have beautiful illustrations.
MY favorite illustrator is Eloise Wilkins. I love her sweet faced children.

Your dolls are so expressive! like how their hands look so real.

I also like your pretty crochet flowers. They can be used in so many ways.

Have a wonderdul day!

I've been busy crocheting too. My daught, sister in law, and I get together every other Wednesday evening and have craft night. We've been crocheting every time and I've made two pairs of slippers and this last pair has a flower on the top. Your flowers are beautiful!

Hi Diane,

you've been fortunate to be able to soak in such lovely weather. It's been nothing but cold and grey, wet days here.

I hope the little bits of jewellery that you've ordered arrive you soon... I had them sent out the morning right after your purchase.
It does take a while for mail to get across from Switzerland to the USA. Please let me know when you do receive them.

Thanks so much!
Juanita

I just love those dolls, and those vintage books. My sister can crochet, and she creates rosettes now with felting too. There is a cute little place on Lake Champlain that sells sweet potato fries, in Burlington, Vermont. I was introduced to them by my mom.

Have a lovely weekend.
