We went to the beach but.....

we didn't stay on the beach!

DSCN6257

My hubby loves to do 'research' before we take a trip

DSCN6261

and this time he found a Bed and Breakfast

SWFront3

in a small town near New Smyrna Beach.

DSCN6034

It was only a short drive to the beach and we loved it!

DSCN6053

Ring Ring....do we have reservations? heehee!

Welcome to The 1876 Heritage Inn !

DSCN6022

I loved the antiques and original hardwood floors and hubby loved the nice big breakfast!

 DSCN6215

We spent one afternoon at Canaveral National Seashore

 DSCN6192

and that was a gorgeous beach with LOTS of seashells!

DSCN6201

I would rather look out at the ocean and breathe it all in than just about anything else in the world....

DSCN6209

a close second would be to pick up shells!

DSCN6274

You never know what treasures you will find! ( I did NOT disturb this crab!)

DSCN6290

And yes....

DSCN6292

I picked up over 200 shells...

DSCN6293

I couldn't stop myself! lol

DSCN6295

I didn't color enhance or sharpen these photos so that hopefully you can see the misty look of the ocean and the colors of gray, green and blue....AMAZING!

DSCN6211

Hope you have a wonderful week! It's hard to believe it's Monday....vacation days sure do FLY by! What do you have planned for today? Is it sunny and warm at your house today? ENJOY! island

Lucky you! The beach looks so serene and pretty. I can almost hear the waves rolling in. Glad you got away for a bit.

Oh it is very warm and sunny here in Western MA today! On the way back from Costco I was dreaming of the beach! Your nice photos hit the spot! Already feel cool! :)

And the Avocados are in the fridge. Thanks for the hints.

Oh, Diane, you are truely tying to kill me. Heheh. All the beautiful sunny beaches and the shells!!! Wow! Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I love shells too. We don't get many along our beaches as it is too rough and rocky and they get busted up.
enjoyed your pictures.

Beautiful pictures. Now thats a lot of sea shells.
It is warm at our house today. I baby sat grand kids again and went to Target. It doesn't sound too exciting does it.

So pretty! You're a good girl not to play with the pictures when they're already that beautiful. Your hubby is a saint to choose a B&B!

Hi Diane,

What a lovely vacation you had at the beach... and such a wonderful beach.
I too love the seaside and all your wonderful shells you got.
I find going to our beach after a storm is the best time to gather shells.

Have a great week

Looks beautiful! Your post reminds me of time spent in Florida visiting my grandparents when I was growing up. My grandmother loved taking us to the beach (Gulf Coast) and have us pick up shells. I remember having a coffee can full! :0)

Goodness what a lovely place to stay at! The shells you collected are fabulous and so varied too, I love shells, you can get transported right to the sea just by looking at them! In one of the photos of the sea, the cloud looks like a teddy bear... well it does to me anyway! It is beautifully hot here in Lancashire England! Have a happy week. suzie xxx

Oh wow Diane...what a glorious place to be. I loved seeing the shells...remember to place them on your Queens in Training crown back home!

My plan for today is all about the store. Thank you for your feedback. I'm so happy that I asked everyone. It is all very valuable to me.

New Smyrna Beach is my favorite place. It was the first place I stayed to visit my late brother-in-law and family. We didn't move there b/c the space coast was shut down when the shuttle exploded in the early 1980s. So we moved to WPB which is where I still am. I love living in paradise, even after all these years. NSB is the loveliest place of all. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Janet

Next time, may I come with you? Did you take Wendy?

I love the ocean more than anything.

And I love that now you will no longer have to use fake shells to make your collection look bigger. Those shells are beautiful.
