Blackberry Cobbler and the mountains!

We live in a condo but still own property with raspberries, mint and blackberries. And I still LOVE to pick berries….and eat cobbler!

DSCN7215

I made this cobbler by an OLD tried and true recipe except this time I changed a few of the amounts.

Blackberry Cobbler

1/2 c. butter
1 c. whole wheat flour plus a little unbleached flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk

2 c. ripe blackberries (or whatever you’ve picked!)

Melt butter in a 2 quart casserole. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk in a small mixing bowl, mix well. I usually add a little vanilla to this mixture, too.

Pour mixture over melted butter, do not stir. Spoon blackberries over batter; do not stir.

Bake at 350° F. for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

It tasted great to me…..but I don’t eat much sugar so my taste buds are not set to expect sugary sweet! lol (if I was not concerned about the amount of sugar in this dessert, I would recommend sprinkling sugar on top of this dish before you bake…don’t stir!)

I just had to spoon a little Natural Vanilla ice cream on top while it was hot….oh my!

This was the sunset last night….

Do you see the moon and Venus? AMAZING!

I love to shop but tend to go to the same stores…over and over! This week I shopped at Marshall’s! I know it’s not a new store…but it was my first time to shop there!

And look what I found! A new hand bag! lol I REALLY needed another summer tote! It will be perfect for a day trip to hold those extra things that I need! (and it was $12.99! can’t beat that! )

Enjoy your afternoon! Any other stores you would like to recommend? I’m in the mood to SHOP!

Fresh berries are so good! Your dessert looks great! The vanilla ice cream - Yes, it definitely needed to be placed on top. The only way to enjoy cobbler or crisp. :)

Like your signature.

Oh my gosh, that cobbler is making my mouth water! I've made cobblers like that and they are always so good! That sunset is beautiful - I haven't been out at night to enjoy it because the mosquitoes are so bad right now!

Wish I could give you some advice on shopping, but I am not much of a shopper unless it's an antique mall or flea market! But I do love your bag!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Okay, so you had the perfect desert to go with the perfect night. What more could you ask for. The perfect partner to enjoy it with and yes Diane we do have perfect partners. That look yummy and we have blackberries growing wild all over the place here. Guess what I will be making next. I just finished making my infamous Strawberry rhubarb pie to die for. So We may have to wait for a week to lose the pounds we just acquired from the pie. Hope you are having a wonderful summer. Will you be going back to Carolina in the fall or will you be staying in Florida
