Flashback Friday “Sisters”

Sometimes old photos make me sad. It always makes me miss my family!

But this morning I was inspired by my friend Sandy’s post HERE and decided to take part again.

PMSCAN0567

I talked to my sister yesterday and this morning I’m sharing a photo taken about 25 years ago. My hair was dark (with a little help from Nice and Easy hair color) and her hair was naturally dark. We’ve both ‘lightened up’ since then!

I lived in NC very near the TN border and it was just a short drive to the Appalachian Trail.

It seems so long ago….like another lifetime!

Do you have old photos you treasure?

I’m joining Seaside Simplicity

for Flashback Friday!

Hi there
I feel just the same when i browse through my old photos. Its a sweet sad experience. They bring back some lovely memories but very emotive. I also marvel at how things have changed so much. All the same I,d be very sad indeed if I should lose any of those photos.

Keep well

What beautiful ladies and awesome memories. My son hiked the whole appalachian trail probably 5 years ago, it was such a life changing adventure for him. Have a great day! hugs, Lecia

Great photo of you and your sister. It is sad to be away from family. My sister and I live in different towns, about a three hour drive. We keep the freeway hot!

Have a great weekend.

Yes, but very few with me in them. Sadly, I have been very successful at being the invisible woman.

What a great photo! You and your sister look as if you're from the same family! (My sister and I don't.)

I have lots of treasured photos - but no sister, you are very lucky.

Old pictures are such treasures! I know what you mean about another lifetime. Twenty-five years can go by in a flash...and yet, when you consider all that has changed...another lifetime indeed.

Thanks for visiting me at Thinking About Home. I'm with you! Homemade bread trumps dessert! :D

I cherish my pictures of the past. Twenty-five years ago is just a brief passage in time for me.

My only sister and I live about two hours apart. She doesn't drive anymore, but I go and see her every couple of months.

You and your sister look so sweet. Thanks for sharing the memories.

Yep, I have old photos that I look at very occasionally.. A lot of my family have passed on and it makes me miss them so I don't do it often. Love the photo of you and your sister! :)

I wonder if you could help me? If you have time, could you pop on over to my blog and give an opinion on my post about blog etiquette? I had a question and I'd love some answers from seasoned bloggers. Thanks so much :)

Hi Diane,

Lovely photo of you and your sister and it is great to look back on old times.
My Grandfather was always taking photos and at the time when we were little, we got so tired of him taking them, but now enjoy seeing them.

Happy weekend

I have many, many old photos and I cherish each one, but, as you said, sometimes they make me sad. Hard to explain.

Great photo of you and your sister.

Old photo's make me think: where did time go? It only seems like yesterday? Indeed it makes one feel nostalgic, as by looking at them you realize there is always the letting go of things, the good bye, the separation, of going into other directions.
Unfortunately on your last two posts I do not see any pictures at all, only a big gap?! I see others did see your pictures.
Gorgeous previous posts, I loved your creativity!
Happy weekend and love from Holland,
Jacoba

I am with you. I lived with so many relatives around me as a child and now my parents are gone and my siblings have all moved away. I miss those days but I have a house full so that helps.

You're so fortunate to have a sister, who's (even better!) a friend.
I can't think of anything off-hand that's more precious than my olden photos!

Have a beautiful day!

Pictures make me nostalgic. They mix bitter with sweet. Time that has passed and will never come again...yet we are happy that we were given that piece of time.

You and your sister are both lovely. Cherish the memory.

How did I miss this? I thought I saw all the Flashback Friday posts! Thanks for sharing my post! I noticed that several people had visited my blog from yours and wondered why. Now I know. Thanks! Funny how our hair changes color over the years, isn't it? LOL Love your sweet photo with your sister! I appreciate having a sister! I think we fought a bit back in the day, though.
