TV Time!

Well, I had to find an old photo to start this Before and After post!

DSCN0478[3]

We’ve never watched a lot of TV but we do love to watch movies!

So we bought a small TV and put it on a piece of furniture that rolls and that would eventually be in the lanai and match the furniture in there. We had to roll the TV forward to watch it!

Years passed…heeheehee!

Finally we bought a BIG 60” TV a few months ago and guess where we put it?

We searched for a table or entertainment center but could never find just what we wanted until one day last week. Hubby hauled it home in pieces so now…

let’s watch as hubby puts it back together!

So guess where I found it?

(No fair…you’ve been to my blog before!)

At the Thrift Store!

Drum roll please…

A friend came over to help hubby with some lifting and said it looked like it was custom built for our TV! And the color is even good. We wanted to mix some wood tones with black painted furniture and it works perfectly.

Thanks hubby for all that you do!

And I got credit for finding it for….

$250!!!

My BEST Thrift store find EVER!

Are you a Downton Abbey FAN?

We’re ready to watch it now!

I’m joining Thrifty Things Friday HERE !

Hello, Miss Lavender Dreams.

Very nice, and I see there are teddy bears all settled in and ready for a good movie. Maybe a Winnie the Pooh?

Hugs,
Prudence ♥

Where's Wendy? Did she eat up all those Cheetos?

Great find! And just look at the blank canvas you have there along the top, and all those wonderful cubbies to fill with pretties. I think we need to see an After After.... ;)

What a great find! And the TV looks so much nicer in a cabinet like that. LOL, I had to laugh at the bundle of cords.

And yes, we're Downton Abbey fans now. We finally got the DVDs for seasons 1 and 2 last year, and started watching the shows this year. We're just a wee bit late to the party.

I loved seeing Wendy and how well posed she was in the last post. This piece is even better now that you got it put together. I got a giggle seeing the tv stand you had before. It reminds me of one my parents had forever, then my brother used forever. He still has it, but it is in his storage room holding junk. Some things are just hard to part with, I guess.

Hard to believe someone else would want to part with the new tv cabinet you bought, but their loss is your gain. It looks great with your furniture.

Hi Diane,
What a great find. Your tv is just the right size for my aging eyes. My husband and I don't have cable but we do love watching movies. We got hooked on Downton Abbey, too. We'll have to wait until the new season comes out on Netflix.
Enjoy your cozy new living room.
Blessings and Happy Valentine's Day!

Great find Diane. These large thin TV's are an issue to decorate around.

Diane, that is an awesome find! It looks like it is in beautiful condition! The stain color is perfect! Well done my friend! Do you mind if I drop by to watch Downton Abbey with you instead on our tiny outdated tv? LOL Thank you for sharing this find with us at TTF!

That is a gorgeous piece of furniture! !
Not too long ago I told my son ( moving back into his house ) to check our local mission store and he ended up with two beautiful like-new dressers and a colonial style table with six chairs for his kitchen. I stopped in a few days later and picked up a chest of drawers ( Oak ) for my grandson, also in mint condition.
