Would you like to travel down a ‘country road’ here in Florida? Well, we have them here but this isn’t one of them!
I took these photos because it looked like a perfect country field.
And it was a beautiful Spring day here in North Central Florida, a perfect 82 degrees with big puffy clouds. (this photo is unaltered and yes, I was driving! heehee!)
It just happens that this country field is on a busy 6 lane highway across the street from the Thrift Store. I’m parked at Walgreens drugstore taking the photos.
Aren’t the Spring flowers here gorgeous and I love using the mirror frame to show off the blooms?

I use a small Canon S 100. It’s a great little camera for indoors but tends to overexpose my sunny Florida photos so I took the brightness out in PicMonkey.

Beautiful! When I see little spots like that in town, it always makes me hope and pray that it stays there instead of being covered with concrete.
Those are great shots of the flowers. There is a town here in Indiana called Wabash....they have hollyhocks all over that town. I want to go there when they are in bloom. Hope you have a fun filled weekend. xoxo,Susie
WOW! Just gorgeous! And it looked like an idyllic countryside only to find out it's across from a busy highway. Let's hope that patch of cheerfulness doesn't get plowed under for more concrete and shops. We all need to be reminded to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Happy Mother's day!
How pretty! I know you went through some extra work to capture these, LOL, and it was well worth the effort! Such glorious color! And it is very special to have a big field of wildflowers blooming in an urban setting. Doesn't it make you wonder how many smiles it has given people who drive by? The expanse shown in the first two photos gives us a sense of the immensity of it all. And the last shot of a group close-up is positively lovely.
It looks like a type of wild vinca flower to me, which is an annual. But that variety is good for reseeding the areas where it blooms, so a repeat performance can be displayed year after year.
Beautiful blooms, I can't wait for spring to get started here!!

I have these flower the name is Garden Phlox. So nice to see plenty of these in your area. Mine is not blooming yet I am here in Michigan and we are kind of late here. ^_^

Good Afternoon Diane, Now had you not shown me the other side of the road, I really would have thought you had taken a photograph of a beautiful flower meadow..... but the flowers are still beautiful though.
I agree with Donna they are a type of vinca. We used to see them growing wild in Cyprus, they seed themselves everywhere.

Lucky you to find a field of pink flowers. Judging by the blooms and buds, they look like phlox, we have a wild variety that grows along the side of the country roads here.
I perceive a nice note card from the second photo. :-)

That's "Garden Phlox". I used to have some of that in my garden, at the first little house we lived in.

What lovely flowers!! We have a lot of wild daisies growing on the verges of our roads. A few weeks ago they were covered with daffodils. I just love to see them! Thanks for taking us there with you . Joan
